Vancouver didn’t finish nearly as far back of the playoffs as it feels like they should have. The turmoil has to end if they are going to have any chance of making the post season in 2026.

I just know a divisional opponent is gonna go out of their way to re-concuss Chytil
You say Chytil looked better when he started with the Canucks. That should really say something about Tocchet's system. There isn't a single skill-first forward who got better under his system. Pettersson, Lekkerimaki, and Chytil all looked progressively worse the longer they played under Tocchet and it's frankly quite disappointing.
Should have traded JT Miller first and you'd still have Bo Horvat. Who loved the city and his position in it.
Miller is a cancer to every lockerroom. NY will implode this season
As I've said before, the Canucks had nine players who missed 10 or more games last season, not including Brock Boeser, who missed 7 games, but didn't fully recover from his concussion for at least a month afterwards. And this wasn't fringe players. This includes 4 of their top 6 forwards, 3 of their top 4 defencemen, and their star goalie. If you cut those injuries in half, they are still at about league average and they would have not only made the playoffs, they would have been fighting for home ice advantage in the first round.
They don't need to stay 100% healthy. They just need to avoid catastrophic numbers of injuries.
They also need a 2c and there are really none out there. Jack Roslovic is a good 3c, but the Canucks have at least two of those already. Maybe trade with Calgary to get our 3rd round pick back and then try for Rossi or Mason McTavish, but that would also involve dumping cap space.
Here's a trade idea:
Trade 2 conditional 4ths and FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS for our 3rd, with the understanding that if we get Rossi or McTavish, future considerations turns into Filip Chytil. Then if Filip Chytil does well in Calgary (70+ games and 40+ points) we don't have to give up the 4ths. Calgary gets a 40+ point centre at less than $5 million for a 3rd, which is win-win.
Should the Canucks up their offer for Rossi?
I dont get your comment saying we could use another D? We have several solid young guys pushing for a spot on D as opposed to the forwards from Abby that appear to have low ceilings. Our backend and tenders are solid, ( top half of the league at minimum), it's offense that we require, we have about 12 guys for the bottom 6 a 4 for the top 6 . Defense wont be our issue this year, scoring will be.
Same Canucks drama, different year. It’s exhausting.
finally you made the Vancouver video, I look forward to the Vancouver trades coming tomorrow. I dont think ill be able to comfortably watch the canucks again until they have Hughes under contract lol. He's such a joy to watch I'm going to be so devastated if he gets moved.
did u just graduate? congrats!!! lol
1st and 2nd round exits for the next decade!!! HERE WE COME!! 😂
Detroit would like Hronek back. Make a deal!
0:19 In terms of disparity of success last season between a given Canadian NHL team and its AHL affiliate, I count, among the top-3, the:
– Calder Cup win by the Abby Canucks compared to no playoff appearance by the Vancouver Canucks
– Stanley Cup final appearance by the Oilers compared to no playoff by the Bakersfield Condors
– conference final appearance by the Laval Rocket compared to the first-round exit by the Habs
Would have liked to see Joshua kept over O'Connor. Also imagine if Pettersson had been traded instead and Canucks kept Miller and Horvat who was on pace for 60 goals that year. First line of Horvat Miller Boeser would have been great
I truly think Pettersson goes back to 80+ points, and maybe turns up his defensive game. my main concern right now is demko and Chytil. I think those are the turning points for whether or not the canucks are in the playoffs
Man, the Canucks sound like a slot machine, there's so much "If he's healthy, if he plays a full season, if he rebounds." All it has to do is come up all 7s and they'll have a good season.
You should have a Graduation Cap on.
Karlson and Ratty should be in the line up. I dont think Lekkerimäki is ready. He needs another season in the AHL.
Hronek NEEDS to be better if we’re giving up a first round pick who is ASP! And I am hoping he at least gets 50 points! But we need him to be better.
I think that they will be a lot better than last year. It is just a feelin', but my feelings are often correct.
If thats not the worst roster in the league its certainly among them.
Hopefully someone worthy gets ahold of Sherwood.
Why did we trade Dakota Johnson???
Unless its a trade for McTavish, I would prefer the Canucks to do NOTHING but maybe drop another guy like Oconner (2.5M) to make roster spots at training camp. I think Raty, Karlsson, Sasson all deserve to be our ELC saviours on this team and mid season we can re-assess, with some accrued cap space. 6M cap space at the beginning of the season is a 12M centre by mid season till the new CBA is in effect.
Got to take advantage now, last season where you can "weaponize" the cap space.
We're going nowhere. Anaheim and San Jose are almost done with rebuilds. We'll probably be bottom dwellers with Kraken
Kane EP40 Boeser
DeBrusk Chytil Garland
Hogs Roslovic Sherwood
O’Conn Bleuger Karlsson
*Raty, Sasson
Hughes Hronek
M. Pettersson Mancini
E. Pettersson Myers
*Forbort
Demko
Lankinen
After 50 plus years of watching the Canucks I've actually stopped watching them live. They have got to be one of the most frustrating teams out there, never being good enough and always having the chance to be good enough. This year will be no different, one injury and the excuses will start.
Looking for good players to add? The Canucks need to address not losing good players in the first place, Wanna know who is a great proven center, who has some grit, is scrappy, highly talented, and can get things done? His name is JT Miller!! No? How about a lesser qualified center that could gel well with the team and who is great on the powerplay and shootouts as well. His name is Bo Horvat! Do you see a problematic pattern here??? Nevermind getting another player, but try instead to keep good ones. But yeah, we will put a bandaid on Pettersson's bruised ego and coddle him along for a few more years at over 11 million per season.
Correct me if I’m wrong but except Lekkermaki we don’t have a pipeline of good developing players.
The core is good but iffy – as in some key players like Demko, Boeser and Chytl are suspectible to long term injury.
And if Petey doesn’t have an 80 pt season to make up for Miller gone, no way of making the playoffs.
Joshua was the only gritty forward so we lost that component too.
GORDON: Flying V!
The Vancouver Canucks just keep going in circles.
Trade 1st for C – Trade C for RHD – Trade C for 1st into D-men. Opps I don't have anymore C dept better trade a 1st for a C again. Opps I don't have Cap space. Players traded/ can't re-sign. Opps now I'm down another C.
I would trade Hoglander just to make cap space
The thumbnail looks like Peter Dinklage in a Canucks uniform 😂
THG do you think the Nucks take a swing at McTavish (ANA)
The Canucks on paper are better than the Oilers, Oilers are really overrated. Lost a lot of depth piece. Outside of Mctrash and Drytrash their forwards wouldn't be able to crack the AHL. Defence and goaltending is best not to talk about.
Canucks will be better than the Oilers this year guaranteed.
That jersey might be the ugliest jersey ive ever seen
Thay jersey looks like your about to splash some holy water on the Canucks and tell them how to rid them selves of there sins haha 😅
