As a Wings fan I rather see Yzerman sign Kyle Connor for free than trade for David Pastrnak and give up way too many assets.
I genuinely don't think last is in the realm of possibility for Seattle – they have way too many guys who, even if they all perform at "floor", would get them to around 80 points or so.

10:28, It could make sense with Kopitar possibly retiring this NHL season and then it's gonna be up to Doughty and Byfield.
14:28, that is a good point because if the Sharks could get Celebrini, Smith, Misa, Orlov, Tifolli, and Ravensburgen as their six best players, they could get above 30 wins this season and get to the playoffs by the 2026/27 season.
Hot take: Habs have a Top 5 offence in the league with the additions of Dobson (50+ points from the back-end) Bolduc, a full season from Demidov (who will win the Calder), progression from their young core (Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky and Hutson) as well as (hopefully) a healthy Dach and Laine. I especially expect their Power play to be LETHAL and score a good fraction of their goals there.

Appreciate the Thomas love, dude went nuclear in the 2nd half of the season. I think Thomas will be close to that 100pt mark with BOTH Holloway and Kyrou being PPG+ players. Blues will have a lethal top 6 this year.
