What are the expectations for the Boston Bruins next season?
The Boston Bruins. Speaking of Team USA, Jeremy Swayman, the world championship. Team USA capturing that crown for the first time since FDR was president. Big deal. As we look at what happened to them in 2024 25 a lot. Jim Montgomery had won the Jack Adams not too far back. Basically lots of transition including trading their captain Brad Marshian and he goes on to win the cup. These fans right now are like enough. Talk to us about the future. So, Grimmer, talk to us about the future. Well, I’ve got him in the bucket of missing ingredients. Um, and you know, maybe just to state the obvious point, the lowhanging fruit. It’s been a, you know, it’s been a a few a few years now since the departure of uh Crerachche and Berseron. And really, you think about the identity and the depth of the forward core, especially for these Boston Bruins going back to, if you want to call it an era. It wasn’t that long ago, but um there there are good ways still from being anywhere near that in my estimate in Michigan just in terms of, you know, the way that top nine looks. little thin down the middle and just even in terms of the top six if you know to to generate the kind of offense that would leave you in a playoff spot if you’re Boston uh I’m you know I’m just not seeing it the way this roster dresses out right now what about it I I think they’re missing ingredients too David Pastron can’t do everything on his own despite of what he showed us in the past when he actually does do everything alone but over the course of a full season I look at that forward group and the depth it is missing ingredients it’s a bunch of good hockey players but you look around the NHL, if you if you don’t have that superstar, um you’ve got a bunch of really good players. If you have one, you got to surround them with a little bit more pop, a little bit high, uh having a full season of Hampus Lynholm, Charlie Makavoy, and you got a great goalender in Swayman who’s looking for a back a bounceback season. It gives you belief and optimism. And look, I I’ve doubted the Bruins before and I’ve been incredibly wrong every single time. It took them taking a big step back last year for me to go, I think I feel safe saying they’re missing ingredients, but Boston, it’s a tough team to bet against.

They need new management and ownership. It’s the same old, let’s overpay someone who’s washed up but a recognizable name to get fans excited. Oh we suck and don’t care about the product on the ice we just want to keep making money so we’ll also raise the ticket prices. I had been a life long bruins fanatic until this past season. I won’t go to another game until Sweeney and Neely are fired and the ownership gets serious about spending money to win.
