They made that mistake with Nurse. They kept giving him bridge deals and he kept out performing those deals, until his contract year, where he really had a good year and other top defence men in the NHL were cashing in big time, so the Oilers were forced to over pay Nurse. They could have had Nurse in his prime for 7 -7.5 Million dollars per year long term.
Bouchard cost us 2 goals in the last game, his upside is great when it's producing but his downside leads to the pick in the back of our net more than I'd like to see in a 9m+ defenseman.
Yall are brainwashed into thinking Bouchard is this godly player. He costs you huge goals every year and most of the time the only reason he scores is because he is set up by mcdavid or draisaitle for shots from the point. He has a good shot but the numbers you are talking about are insane.
Bouchard needs to learn how to play defensive game. Don’t need more forwards and he isn’t coffee??!!!
