NO MORE Slow Starts for Habs Next Season, Quick Summer Update
Montreal Canadiens cannot have another slow start to next season, see you at the prospects challenge in Montreal in September, Ivan Demidov talk, congrats to Nick Suzuki and more.
I personally felt that the team was buoyed by the acquisition of Laine last summer and his pre-season injury just absolutely deflated them. Remember that – without Laine – this was more or less the same squad that went 2-4-4 to end the previous season at 76 points. Yeah, they had Hutson but he started slowly too. How could we have expected them to be any different than the 23-24 squad?
Days are ticking down to another hockey season, and as much as we all are anticipating that last big piece addition to the Habs puzzle (2C)…I've been really impressed with Hughes' patience for the right deal at the right time…never panicking, never really overpaying (altho some may question the Dobson contract…I feel the contract looks better in time as the cap grows). For me, the biggest wild card story is Dach. Some have questioned why he was not in attendance with all the players in Brossard and if he attended or not, Suzuki's wedding especially since he was seen in Brossard skating w/Demidov not very long ago. I find this all somewhat intriguing. As a typical crazed Hab fan, I may be overblowing a nothing storyline but I wonder if Dach will remain a Hab by opening day. As much as we all predict Michael Hage will be our Center of the future, his one drawback, if you can call it that is he's right-handed…and we all know the Habs would prefer to add a strong lefty Center. With all the smoke surrounding Mason McTavish possibly being available…could a healthy Dach be dangled as part of that deal? Yep, me just being delusional! As for a strong start to the season…that would be ideal! (just avoid major injuries please!)…however I still have very strong questions around our defensive system (not just the defensemen, I'm talking team defense)…as we lost 2 key defensive forwards in Dvo & Armia as the rebuild continues to push the offensive side of this team. I feel this team still struggles to defend as they get caught running around and a bit lost, if they struggle with their offensive game. And even with Dvo & Armia, this team still gave up many outshot games and are prone to many giveaways. So until I see this team have a more solid defensive structure, I feel a strong start is not imperative…I feel this team with their new additions will need time to adjust and find chemistry, and the holes they had last season will just be emphasized this season. I've stated this before, but if this team can consistently play high pace and successfully dictate their offence, this team will be ok for the regular season…but I do not want them to be an Edmonton Oilers/Toronto ML team that have offensive threats but can't play defensive hockey and thus flounder in the playoffs. It's a long season so this team will continue to evolve and I'm excited for it! Go Habs Go!
A slow start may happen as we have new faces and a few rookies but I think barring injuries we're going to see more progress this year. Patience is still the key but hopefully some pleasant surprises ! Enjoy your break Dekes and Ghg !

Nick is a great captain.
I look forward to see you and meet Producer Shayne at the showdown!! WhooOOO!
I like where we’re at in this Re-Build. No need to rush it, just keep moving up the standings baby steps people.
Don't forget, Carrier was not here in October last season.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

Why Habs have 17 back to backs, no way that way that will help, that's a 8 – 7 max or 7 – 8 max.
Hey ! Could you give me the YT channel from the two old guys doing radio in Ontario.
I would like to follow them. Thanks 🙏
