  1. Soon, we will be a cup contender and guess what type of player we will want to acquire….a player exactly like Anderson.

So why get rid of him. He’s fast, hits hard and when he’s on, he can score too. For a future 4th line, he’s exactly what we need

  2. Reinbacher will push Matheson out of high minutes and MTL when he's ready after a few months in the AHL. As a good manager does, HU-GO try to sell high and buy low.

  3. After seeing what he was adding to MTL during first round, i can't see MTL trading him, they need more of what he brings.

  4. If Hughes is offering up Matheson, a 1st and a 2nd for McTavish, I would consider throwing either Struble or Dach in on top to get it done

  5. The team is already soft. Anderson gone would be a horrible decision. The reason the habs are “always in the middle of it all” is because habs media is annoying and constantly blowing smoke.

“Habs potentially trading (17th best prospect and a bad contract) for (other teams star player)”

  6. Unless we're getting some definitive improvement I would definetly keep Newhook long term, the speed and intensity he plays with would thrive in a more reduced role and I think he can kill penalties too.

  7. Anderson is old school, have to keep him. Just any opposing defenceman, which player on the Habs makes them rush plays.

  8. Anderson may even get resigned by the habs after his contract ends, as long as he takes less of course which he will I'm sure.

  9. If Josh could finish on a breakaway, he would’ve scored 23+ this past year.
That being said, I love his game right now because he is filling a physical role that’s much needed. 11, 71, 17 in 2025-2026.

  10. I've always said Gally needs to stay. This year is the first year I'm thinking that if Mtl trades a big contract, it has to be Gally. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, don't get me wrong, but Josh Anderson is just the better player right now and Montreal still needs him. If MTL keeps Gally, it's not out of need, it's out of reciproque loyalty.

  11. Anderson's a great power forward when healthy. Hope they keep him and not pull a bone head move as when the club got rid of John Leclair🙄

  12. Andy stays .
He is the ONLY power forward on this team.
Don't forget he roughed up big time Wilson and Trouba
Arber is the only other guy who brings that dimension

  13. Montreal has no one that plays significant minutes that is tough. How many times does it need to be said, toughness wins in the playoffs. Lose Anderson lose all toughness, out in the first round again.

  14. Could we see the bottom 6 being Newhook, Laine, Evans, gally, Anderson, Xhekaj? Cuz gally Anderson and Xhekaj would be a crazy shut down line
