  1. After those trades i thought the mets would take the crown of best bullpen. Now my padres got miller and the best bullpen got better. Still your bullpen is crazy

  2. The way I see it, the prospects we lost were high on the Mets' list, but on the overall prospects list throughout the league, none of them were even close to the top 100. Maybe it's coping, but that's how I view it, and what makes me ok with trading them away.

  3. Jerry understand Vientos value.. jolly doesn’t.

Jolly, we have no dhs next year and Pete will opt out.. we need Vientos and trading him to a team in the same division is dangerous

  4. Both trades get A+ grades for me. Until proven otherwise, I’m going to trust what Stearns is doing here.

  5. Unless winning every game by shutout is our plan. Address our offense maybe with different hitting coaches esp. if you believe in our current roster.

  6. Big time moves, I just want a starter more than multiple relievers and Mullins ideally in CF.

  7. Let’s go Mets! Get a move on the Hitting! The Pitching is about to get better! ❤️‍🩹 Let’s go Mets!

  8. For all the complaints about the Mets weaknesses this year, they're leading the NL East at the Deadline. Yes, Soto had a weak start of the year, yes the starters don't go deep enough, yeah the bullpen is broken (injured and gassed and lately full of day laborers that are 1 day rentals like Lovelady), and yes it's crazy that the bottom of the lineup did nothing for months and now the top of the lineup is inept.

With all those challenges, this team is leading the division, and I am the fan that will celebrate the success of this team, ugly or not.

Sure, I don't love the Edwin Diaz cardiac episodes, but he gets the job done better than almost anyone else.

Yes, we don't have actual fast players, but we've stolen bases at an elite efficiency rate thanks to great coaching.

I applaud Sterns for seeing the potential of this team and going for it, even if it means paying a high prospect price in this new deadline environment. The bullpen was the biggest issue that he could fix.

The offense will hopefully wake up now that it's crunch time. Baseball is an insane season. How often have we seen players go from the worst cold stretch ever to hotter than lava or the other way around?

I don't mind that the bats have been dormant for a while, I just want them to make the changes to get hot for September and October.

Come playoffs, every starter only goes 5 innings anyways because you use your high leverage bullpen a lot with the extra off days. So unless we're getting an ace or #2, we dont need a starter that just gives length.

The last potential upgrade is Center Field. We will see what Sterns has for us today..
