  1. We need net front presence like Pavs did with tipping pucks. Jamie can do this well. Throw in some different looks.

  2. I’m calling it now. Seguin will not play all 82 or stay healthy. I GUARANTEE he will be injured at some point this year. If you can count on him for one thing in the past few years. It’s to be injured and miss portions of the season. I can’t wait til he’s gone.

Question, who’s the next Stars captain?

  3. F Ralph Strangis. Total duchebag. I still remember Mike Fornes. Why isn’t he in the Stars HOF?? I still remember his classic goal call when the Stars would score “a shot, and a goal!”… Mike Fornes for Stars HOF

  4. Why does no one talk about how the NHL seeds? I suppose im making an excuse for Dallas and I am a Stars Homer i admit, but their playoff seeding draw has been hard to say the least. It is what it is, thats the way it is so we have to deal with it i agree. But we draw Vegas, Colorado, Winnipeg….Edmonton gets LA, Vancouver, and they did get Vegas once, but a far easier path. I wish they'd take a look the playoff seeding. Guess that's why its the toughest championship to win.

  5. I’m hoping Jake Oettinger can elevate his game to another level and get that much better between the pipes. Give him a decent backup behind him as well. Post season play needs to be better across the board for the whole team, get over the hump of the WCF. I’d like to see Otter 🦦 be more consistent with his “ over my dead body “ performances that he occasionally has on the ice 🧊.

  6. Let’s add some qualifiers when discussing Wyatt…”He was inconsistent”. Wyatt spent the first 2 months of the season hopping from line to line, with 8+ different linemates in that span….going from C to RW during games, in between games, etc. The linemates he spent the most minutes with in the 2nd half of the season were Benn and Dadanov, both of whom went into slumps. Benn had just 1 goal the final 3 months of the season…Naturally, Wyatt’s even strength numbers suffered, though he was still producing points due to PP.

During the playoffs, Debeor had the Benn-Johnston-Dadanov line, which scored just 4 goals to 10 against the final 3+ months of the regular season, going against the opposing team’s top line. Benn and Dadanov were the two worst defenders on the team last year (out of the forwards), so you can imagine how that played out. When Debeor finally broke that line up, again, Johnston’s linemates were inconsistent. For several games, him and Robo didn’t even have a RW – Debeor just rotated in various players throughout the game, from Mikko to Hintz, etc.

Let’s be reasonable with our criticisms…Wyatt was still on a rookie contract last year technically, his new one doesn’t kick in until this year. If you want Johnston’s performance to improve, then he needs 1. Better linemates that compliment his skill set and 2. Consistent linemates. You mentioned if Benn would be forced into a 4th line role or given the chance to play with Job soon, without even considering the effects of that on Wyatt. If Johnston is forced to carry Benn again, I just struggle to see how you’re expecting him to be a top performer. No other top 6 level talent, would be expected to succeed in the conditions Wyatt is expected to perform well in. Hintz centered the 3rd line for 2 games, and you’ll were screaming for Debeor to put him back on the top line.
