The Canucks crease is set as Silovs traded to Penguins

The trade that needed to happen, finally happens, as Arturs Silovs is traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Matt and Blake go over the return of an AHL player and a draft pick, whether it really was inevitable, and if this is a trade that they’ll ever end up regretting. The guys also look back on a brief but popular stint for Silovs as a Canuck. To get the full lowdown on where Silovs is headed and what the Canucks are gambling on, InGoal media’s Kevin Woodley joins the show again to offer up his insight. Kevin gives his thoughts on the career trajectory for Silovs, the Demko-Lankinen crease, and whether the goaltending Canucks prospects are still in good shape for years to come. Then it’s Dave Hall from Canucksarmy with his report card on Chase Stillman’s play in the AHL, where he is likely to end up within the Canucks organization, and what the hole left behind by Silovs now looks like, both on the ice and off of it. The guys then wrap up a busy weekend by chatting about the Lions latest win to get them to .500, the Whitecaps’ slide continuing, and the whole baseball story from the C’s to the Jays to the M’s!

  1. “They did their best”? This means they choked again. If goaltender market is always low, then why the hell they pick the goalies from the draft? Why not just get them from the secondary market? Why waste your time and effort to develop your own goaltender? With Demko and Lankinen, they are spending 10+M at the goaltending position, that is a waste of cap space.

  2. Mark my words, when Demko gets hurt a week into the season their gonna dread the day they traded Silovs. Good luck buddy, i hope you win a cup in Pittsburg and rub the Canucks face in it, they deserve it for the way they've treated you. Us fans get @ss reamed again by an incompetent management and ownership!

  3. Noooooo:( now we're sad there's no more arty parties ~ & we luv'd to party w/ Artie, (but now he'll only be partying in p-bourgh
…y'inz go there to see said new penguin partier goalstop to victory?

  4. Some Canuck fans seem to live in an alternate universe. What were you expecting for a goalie who played 19 games, had an .880 save percentage and had deficiencies in his game?

  5. WAIT: 5 Playoffs Wins puts Silovs as 5th all-time for The Canucks?!?!?!? That seems INCREDIBLE! I'm going to accept your graphic is accurate, but I'd have never believed it… !! Hope ALL THE BEST for the young man that played a HUGE part in bringing The Canucks organization their 1st championship; I hope he gets every chance in Pittsburg, and becomes their next Tom Barrasso / Marc-André Fleury!
