The compensation issue should be stepped on unless either the club or the player can prove malicious intent against the FA in bringing these charges. The games governing bodies must be free to investigate and bring charges in cases. If the accused wins then so be it, but the governing bodies cannot be hamstrung by the threat of financial penalties into allowing serious breaches of rules on gambling.
Good point by Jordan as to why he may not sue. I always wondered why Mahamdou Sakho did not sue when he was banned for performance enhancing drugs in 2016. Was first choice at the time for Liverpool and France. Missed a European final for Liverpool and the 2016 Euros for France before the case was dropped. Career never recovered.

The F.A. needs to be held to account for this injustice and should get ready to pay out millions of pounds to both Paquetta and West Ham United…. this has hurt the player and us as a club and cannot go unpunished.

Hmm, their use of innuendo is cheap. Implying that it no further compensation claims emerge that this should be understood as implying guilt… He was just cleared. Leave him alone.

Should spot betting be allowed as it’s ridiculous and is open to manipulation. The gambling companies monitor betting activity relentlessly to see if they are being done over. They don’t mind taking the money!
The biggest problem is how long this case took. The unfair allegation on the player to have to endure for two years, for his family and employers is very very unfortunate.

They talk about the player & the club being compensated, but what about the fans that had to endure, the last 2 years of football, cos of OUR PLAYMAKER, was not quite at the races, which the FA caused! IM not a deluded WEST HAM FAN, but WE was maintaining, some consistency, in the league & Europe, b4 this investigation! IT DEFINITELY HAD AN EFFECT ON OUR PERFORMANCES & OUR PROGRESSION! for Simon, some of the Bets in question were for 4 quid on a yellow card. one of which was against Bournemouth and paqueta asked not to play that day because he knew man city were in for him, but moyes insisted he play, and Moyes gave that statement to the FA. The FA based their case entirely on AI from Betway

….oh and another thing, if i was Paqueta (I wish!) and its is announced that he was not guilty all this time after such a humongous fcuk up, in my very first game very first coming together with opposing player i’d send that fcuker straight up in the air and guarantee another yellow card just because and of tell my family to put their house on it. Unless Simon was a family member i’d make sure he knew nothing that smarmy rubber faced tosser!!!
