Ivan Demidov’s Full Warm Up Today Was Incredible
I created this video to show that I got to watch Ivan Demidov’s warm-up and entire practice today at the Montreal Canadiens practice rink, and it was unreal. I even got the opportunity to meet him after the practice. His smooth skating, insane hands, and lightning-fast shot were on full display — but what really stood out was his incredible work ethic. Even in a simple warm-up, Demidov pushed himself like every rep mattered. This was just a glimpse of why he’s destined to become a superstar in Montreal.

  1. I love all this but i wish we didn,t put so much pressure on this young star let him grow into a man he,s 19 i,m sure he will be the next star but if he has a bad season is he going to be able to come back after all the pressure. And we all know in montreal fans can change on a dime to me putting to much pressure on the young in not a good thing.

  2. what time of the day do they practice? Im staying close for the next weeks so i might go check them out.

  3. Watching him in areal hockey environment in the SISU he was nothing special. His team was basically the MTL Canadiens 3 on 3 6 man team they had Suzuki/Evans/Carrier/Laine/Demidov/ and Laurent Dauphin who is a decent player.
They were beat because the best player in the Sisu last year finally showed up to play >>Mat Joseph he is an elite skater handles the puck very well and can score.
So what about Demidov well he had 2 goals showed he does have that sniper ability but the rest of his entire game was ho hum.Laine got 4 goals all them beauties top shelf snipes but like Demidov the rest of his game is ho hum.
The thing about actually being a very good NHL player is you cannot rely on defenders getting fished in by stick handling you have to be able to hold your weight for puck battles AND being to shield/protect the puck when you get it.The other thing is you need to put it all together to drive the net perimeter hockey is a lol fail.
So Demidov MIGHT end up another Caufield/Laine a scorer predominantly on the PP but not a lot of game outside those perameters.

  4. Laine is a frustrating player to have on your team I can see why teams keep getting rid of him.he shows that elite scoring ability but when he doesn't have the puck in a scoring position he can't do anything else even on an average scale. Can Demidov break that mold that elite scorers have and become a more rounded SMARTER player …hmm I see him more like a Caufield than a Laine which is a good thing but Demidov will never be a big setup guy or a physical presence on the boards and he won't even be a great forechecker he will be as Caufield is an opportunistic transition type player.
However transition only works if you can turn it over quickly because long cycles in your own end everyone is tired so you need to dump it and head to the bench. So far in MSL's tenure as coach he has NOT solved the Habs problem of defending better and creating turnovers sooner they are always a puck chasing team that does not play with smarts so poor coaching in the last 3 years.
