  1. Zac Jones at 5'11" 195lb is unplayable. Denton Mateychul at 5'11" 185 is perfect fit to trade Laffy for. Such a Rangersy thing to do

  2. Hell no! Laffy's a 1st overall for a reason but has struck me as a lazy player and it sounds like from the quote he's willing to work harder now. Let's see if those flashes can become his norm nex season. I feel like it will!

  3. I really don't believe anything on what Lafreniere says about his struggles when a player gets a huge salary increase he would play his ass of which he did not and there is no excuse for his actions and we all know this is more about what the team decided to do to retaliate against management. I really feel he is better off on a another team for his inconsistent play here has reached it's expiration date.

  4. Laf was great early on last season and once he got the big contract, he basically disappeared. I'd hold onto Laf for a possible deal for McDavid. Of course before dealing for McDavid he'd have to sign a long term contract before the trade

  5. Going with your reporting of the vets vowing to tank the season. Going with that it shows they first wanted to get the bust a contract. So they busted their ass to pad the kid. And then put on the brakes. Now that the vets weren’t working the boards and feeding the kid, he didn’t have the grit to grind out points on his own. Which is pretty pathetic for a first overall. Will Cuylle ground it out and made plays, so I don’t think Lafreniere was in line with the vets. The vets don’t have to prove their spot. Lafreniere’s slow growth and then recent signing would make him have to continue to prove himself. But he consistently throughout his career has shown he likes to coast and puck watch and never tries to carry the puck trying to split the defense. The vets coddled that kid and he never has stepped up. He’s a bust and dumping him to fill a role and bringing up Gabe Perrault in his place would be the right move. Perrault has already come out and said he has something to prove. The kid seems to have the grit Lafreniere without a doubt does not.

  6. This proposed trade total gamble. I would rather gamble on keeping Laf. Laf better score 25 plus goals. That’s my expectation.

  7. They have way too many players vying for a handful of spots…trade Lafreniere to Dallas along with Soucy & maybe a late round pick for Jason Robertson.
