Hope the door hits him on the way out. What an ass. Otter willed you through that Jets series. The team was essentially running on fumes from the moment the Avs series ended. Ottengier shut the door on multiple occasions and the team never helped him out. Debour can go fuck himself Otter did everything he could with a D line that failed him.

Stars weren’t prepared for the Oilers, like they were for AVS and JETs, I think they were expecting Knights or Kings and the lack of a game plan showed. Better luck next year, 👋🏻
The avs were already the better team then Dallas and lost because they can't win in overtime or in game 7. But I think the avs would have taken the Oilers to a few more games. Go Oilers in final!

To be fair Jake was a big reason they got where they were, but he was not good in the Oilers series.
People in the comments forgetting that we have the non playoff cowboys and trade away Luka Mavs so I’ll gladly take western conference finals Stars. Sure I want them to get over the hump and finally bring the Cup back home but fighting in the playoffs is far better than no playoffs and sucking for years and years.

A lot of ppl had the Stars winning this series and in some ways I could see why but for me I totally didn't feel that way. The Oilers have very deep team too, the biggest difference for both teams is that the Oilers have a McDavid and Draisaitl and Stars does not..

The gameplan has been dump & chase, 50/50 puck battle on boards, cycle to point, shoot from 50 ft and hope for rebound. DIDN'T MAKE A SINGLE ADJUSTMENT and the defense constantly gave Edmonton open ice. 100% starts from the top here. Wouldn't of even made it past the Avs without jake in net

This Oilers team may be better than last year, but both benefited greatly from the same issue; the current playoff format.
The teams in the Central division literally go to war, while the top teams in the Pacific division skate easily into the Western Conference Final, certainly for the last 2 years, perhaps longer. When one division is so much more difficult than the other, it is literally unfair.
The NHL needs to return to a 1 versus 8, 2 versus 7 etc playoff format. For the last 2 years especially, the Dallas Stars and their first round opponent should have been the Western Conference Final.

PDB is a backstabbing POS. With out Otter standing on his head against Colorado and Winnipeg we don't even get to the WCF. He has faced DOUBLE the shots of any other goalie in the playoffs. If he thought Otter was the problem why didn't he pull him in any of the previous 3 games, they were basically carbon copy goals and plays. All this was is a way for him to not take ANY responsibility for his poor COACHING and deflect his failure onto someone else. Guy is a GUTLESS TURD. I have NEVER heard him take responsibility for a loss in ANY of his pressers. Remember when he threw Fleury under the bus. FIRE THAT POS INTO THE SUN JIM NILL !
It's an elimination game, and your goalie lets in the first 2 shots he faces. Yes, I think the blame is appropriately placed.
Edmonton goes through it too, when Skinner does the same crap. You don't shelter these millionaires, like their tender feelings matter.

Edmonton is the better team. That much is clear. DeBoer's frustration was evident in this presser. Oettinger wasn't good enough, but pulling him like that wasn't fair to him or DeSmith. It was a desperate situation though. Something had to be done. Speaking poorly of Jake in public like this was honest, but unfortunate when it comes to the future. I do think Nill will dismiss DeBoer. Sad ending to a really good Dallas season.
Can we change the title to 'Wrongly HONEST'? PD lost some respect after that!

Remember when gallant called him a clown? The dude is a professional playoff choke artist. Vegas once had logan thompson as 3rd string backup goalie when he was coaching the knights, and he managed to choke two years straight before he was replaced, he didn't even last two years. Stupid sharks kept him for 5 years, he ran that stacked San Jose team into the ground. Dallas needs to get rid of him, all he does is create goalie controversy and do nothing in the playoffs.
The Kings should've eliminated the Oilers, vegas played a very close series. All 3 top Pacific teams would have taken out the stars.
Think he' full of excuses. Him as a head coach should take the biggest responsibility and fault for the players not to single out Jake cause no other goalie would have done better. I'm a Canadian and I back Jake up cause end of the day he doesn't throw a player, any player especially the franchise goalie who is the reason why your in the third round every year under the bus. To humiliate him on home ice and yelling at him when he should be yelling at the entire team. They didn't play well for him and those two quick goals wasn't even his fault. Go blame your assistant coaches or defenseman. Not many goalies can stop 2 on 1 or 3 on 1. Having an ice cold DeSmith ant going to solve anything and it didn't. He talks about playing from behind… sooo what? The oilers played from behind for the first 10 games and had terrible goaltending for awhile and still found a way to claw back cause that's what champion material teams do. Do you see them throw skinner under the bus? They have faith in their team and goalie. Win or lose they lose as a team. He's a good coach but he makes bad decisions and they're costly.

I've said Ott lets in one or two softies every single game. It's a problem that's part of a larger problem- the team doesn't have the depth, fire power, or willingness to fight hard to the end. Scramble style hockey. No way were they were getting past Edmonton and if they did, the Panthers would hoist the Cup in four games. Dallas isn't that great of a team, folks.
