Anaheim Ducks TRADE Mason McTavish To The Buffalo Sabres? | NHL Trade Rumors
So, could the Anaheim Ducks be trading away uh Mason McTavish to the Buffalo Sabres this 2025 NHL off season? Well, here on the screen is an article update or I guess a news update from uh Pac Empire on Instagram. Uh but the news source of course is from David Pegnota. Uh the link to this is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself. Uh but it says the Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadians, and Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers have been linked to Mason McTavish. And this, of course, is from David Pegnota. So, I think Mason McTavish is a very intriguing player that has been talked about uh potentially being on the trademark this off season. Now, I don’t think it’s in the best interest for the Ducks to get rid of Mason McASH. He’s a 22-year-old, you know, top six center, had 50some points last year. He has a bright future in this league. He’s a bit of a hard-nosed power forward type of player and has a lot of grit uh with his play style. So, he’s a player that checks a lot of boxes to me. Like a top six center, 22 years old. I’d give this guy probably a long-term contract. Maybe give this guy like a seven or an eight-year deal worth probably around seven or eight million bucks kind of based on his production so far. That’s a more than fair fair deal in my opinion. But it seems like contract negotiations have been quite far apart uh from Mason McTavish and the Ducks for an office and the Ducks want to bridge him. McTavic wants a long-term deal and maybe this leads to a trade like we saw this with Trevor Zus. uh maybe with uh you know Joel Joel Quenville in the mix now uh they want to shake up the roster and McTavish if he’s dealt to the Sabres would be a cool landing spot for him. So the Buffalo Sabres are a bit of a disaster as a franchise. They just recently traded away JJ Purka uh to the Utah Mammoth for Josh Don and Michael Kessle ring. So times are changing a little bit in Utah in regards to the makeup of this ro or sorry uh in Buffalo in regards to the makeup of this roster. if they want to replace the void left by JJ Purka. I think Mason McTavish on a long-term deal could make a ton of sense if I’m not mistaken as well. I believe McTavish is from Ontario. So, perhaps playing closer to home could be pretty appealing for him and just kind of based on the buildup and dynamic of this Buffalo Sabres roster. He’d be a tremendous player that could be a tremendous player not only for the short term but for the long term as well. So, the if I’m the Buffalo Sabres, I would seriously consider what the asking price may be from Mason Mcavish. Now, it’s going to be pretty high. Uh, do you give up some of your defensive prospects? Do you give up some of your uh, draft capital? Like, whatever the case may be, the asking price could be pretty high. Uh, but Mason McTavish is a very talented player. I think he makes this uh, Buffalo Sabres team a lot better. I would pull the trigger on this deal. You know, make a good move for the fan base, you know, make a good move for the franchise and hopefully get out of a bit of a rut this way. So, I think McTavish going to Buffalo would be a good move for them. But the only question mark to me of course would be what is a Buffalo Sabers trade for Mason McTavish looks like?
