HABS FANS ARE FURIOUS AT THIS 2022 NHL RE-DRAFT…
So, here’s the thing about this topic. It sparked a lot of controversy on Montreal Canadians fan Twitter, and I think that you can go either way, to be honest. But if you don’t know what I’m talking about, I have the 2022 NHL entry draft page on Elite Prospects posted up over here. No, I did not want to go over onto Elite Prospects Instagram account. I apologize for that, but this is the way the 2022 draft came and went 3 years ago. The first overall pick you saw, Yuri Lavkovski, taken by the Montreal Canadians. He currently has 111 points in 200 NHL games. Now, it says he has played four seasons, but it says four because currently the next season is logged into the database for elite prospects. If you head over to Slavovsky himself and you scroll all the way down, yeah, he was drafted in 2022. Then he played one, two, three seasons with the Habs, and then the fourth one is logged here, even though it hasn’t been played yet. So for all these guys that have played or that are on their NHL rosters, just remove one season from the seasons tab and then it’ll be up to date with how things actually are. But Yuruskovski was number one, Neich number two, Logan Culie was number three, and then Shane Wright was number four. Probably the biggest shock of the night. A guy that folks were debating could have gone first overall, ended up slipping down to number four. Past New Jersey, who did not need a center, they had Hishir and Hughes. And past Arizona, because they spent all of their resources scouting Logan Culie, they liked him more than Shane Wright. They didn’t think Shane Wright would be available. And by the time third overall came, they were like, “Yeah, well, Kulie was our guy. We thought we would take him. Let’s take him.” Right? Then went fourth overall to Seattle. And then the rest of the draft followed through. Standouts include Marco Casper of the Detroit Red Wings. Pavl Mintukov of the Anaheim Ducks. Frank Naser in Chicago is pretty good. Marash Nenko, he survived some very complicated health issues and now he’s back. Good to see that. Yuri Kulich, Buffalo Sabers guy. And then you go into the second round and beyond. Fraser Mitten played a lot of games. So did Matthew Pitros on the Boston Bruins. But if you take a look at the 62nd overall pick, of course, this is a guy whom you could debate is the best, most effective, most talented, highest upside player in the 2022 draft. Lane Hudson 62nd overall, 84 games, six goals, 62 assists for 68 total points. There are a few other guys who have made plays like Elias Patterson, former 100point player for the Vancouver Conucks. No, just kidding. That’s the defenseman that you’re looking at here on the screen. Isaiah George played for the Islanders in the previous season. Victor Mancini is also a Vancouver Canuck who’s very good by the way. And then you scroll down and you see the last guy, Kirro Kudriadv, who also played for the Vancouver Conucks. It’s kind of weird, man. All these late round picks from 2022 happen to be Vancouver guys. Kind of funny how that works. But if you sort the 2022 draft by points, you will see that Slovski and Kulie are 1 and two, followed closely by Lane Hudson, who has 68 points in 84 games. Okay, no, not closely. He’s like double the points away from Logan Culie. But in terms of assists, Lane Hudson is all the way up there at third overall as well. It’s why he is third in points. Kulie, Hudson, and Slovakovsky are all just in that territory of top assist, guys. The only difference is Lane Hudson doesn’t score any goals, which is why he’s so far back, but still ahead of the rest of the competition here in 2022. Now, this is why we are making this video, and it’s why this entire topic went so ballistic on Twitter. It’s because of a post made by Scott Wheeler of The Athletic. He went out there and posted his 2022 NHL reddraft. And on the reddraft, he had Montreal taking Logan Kulie number one, New Jersey taking Lane Hudson number two, and Arizona taking Yuri Slovkosski number three. Now, we don’t need to get into the whole, oh, Montreal takes Kulie, New Jersey Hudson, Slovkosski, Arizona thing about it all. We can just dive into the order. Kulie Hudson Slavkovski. This tweet by Sebastian goes out there and says, “In no way, shape, or form does Lane Hudson not go first overall in a reddraft over Logan Culie.” And this tweet had a 100,000 views and a lot of replies and discourse and arguing. Come on now, we don’t need to disrespect Logan Culie. Nobody is disrespecting Culie. He’ll be a stud, but as first overall, you can’t deny that Hudson deserves that spot. And then there are some fans going out there and denying it. Why would you want Hudson over He’s going to be a number one stud. C. Dude has played one season. Like, okay, maybe it’s a little bit too early. Stay up late and watch Big Hudson guy, but is a stud. You Montreal fans are exhausting, man. Leafs fans definitely would say Hudson first. I have no bias here, but it’s literally a tossup between those three. I don’t hate Hudson at number one, but both guys are deserving in a reddraft. Now, here’s the thing. I do think that there is an argument, there is a world where you can say that Hudson should be the number one guy in a reddraft over Logan Culie. I mean, just looking at the pudding right here for Lane and what he has accomplished. His rookie season in the NHL, 66 points in 82 games, point per game in the playoffs. He’s a cyst producing machine. He is so good this Lane Hudson. And he’s dynamic in the same way that Quinn Hughes, Kim Mar, Adam Fox, and Heiskin are dynamic. Dalene, too. He’s in that territory of guys, I would say. Now, you can debate whether or not some of those players should be in a territory above, but still we’ll just classify them as top of the league demon offensive moving power play quarterback type of guys. Hudson is right in that mix. But the thing is for Logan Culie, this is a player whose upside is also tremendously high as a center who’s just got such a skilled game who knows how to maneuver around the offensive zone with efficiency. who had scored 65 points in 75 games, 25 goals, 40 assists as a top center with the Utah hockey club. Now, sure, there were other guys in the top of the lineup at the center core as well. Nick Schmaltz comes to my mind right away. But when you think about just the young talent in Utah with Clayton Keller, Logan Culie, Dylan Gensther, Barrett Hayden, these guys are all just coming into their own at the right time. And for Culie himself, I think that this guy after bouncing back from what was a good personal season. I mean, 44 points in 82 games in 23-24, that’s good. But the Utah Hockey Club came into existence because Arizona was a tire fighter. It was not a good time to be an Arizona Coyote’s player when they were playing out of the gosh darn NCAA arena. So for Logan Culie to impact the game in the way that he does with his speed, with his creativity, with his nifty passes, his dipsy doodles, this is a guy who can be a number one bonafide center. Like I’m thinking a 90 to 100 point caliber guy every season if everything works out. Maybe there’s the potential for Kulie to maybe get one 95 or 100 point season and then be an 80 point guy the rest of his career. But I do think that it’s possible that he has multiple 90 plus point campaigns. And with a first overall draft pick, you can’t deny that that’s a pretty reasonable player to take first overall. And I do think that because Kulie has two seasons worth of NHL play, he didn’t have a sophomore slump like everybody feared that he would. He just went out there and continued getting better. That I think is the leg up that he has over Hudson at the moment, who has yet to play a second NHL season and who is still coming off of that brand new rookie called Calderinning Shine. You just don’t want to be too optimistic on the guy who has played only one season compared to the other guy who is arguably doing similar things on his own team and who happens to have two seasons worth of play under his belt instead of one. And then you get into Slowsky and it’s like, yeah, if you had to choose one or the other, or Sloff, I’d probably say, eh, yeah, you could say Koolie. and then Hudson or Slaf. I think Hudson is also an easy decision to make there. But for now, let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about this commentary about the reddraft here. Hudson Slowsky, who is it that you would take number one in a reraft? Let me know in the comments section all your opinions. I hope you enjoyed this Vash 999 and bye.

In a redraft, montreal would take hutson 1000%
Why being mad.? I know Scott Wheeler is often pretty sketchy in his ranking that is why I really don't give credit or pay attention to what he says. It's like when you hate every movie or restaurant somone is suggesting you, you just stop following their suggestions. Wheeler has been out of my radar for a while already…
Im not drafting a defender that doesn’t know what defense is.
Imagine thinking an undersized left shot defensemen that can't defend would be taken above a 1C 😂😂😂
Hutson to Montreal no matter what
The worst part of this was definitly Kasper down to 10 like C'mon Wheeler still consistently underestimating Kasper is an Insane thing. Reality is that Kasper rn is 4 in redraft pretty easily I'd say. Those steps he made over the season are impressive to say the least.
I seen Ty Young on this list too
They'd still have an elite defense without Hutson and would have that 2nd line center that they've been looking for. Not much to be bad about. Hutson has shown to be the best player in this draft so far, but a lot of these guys are still young.
The biggest steal in the last decade, what do you want more 😂
