  1. the Tij Ignila comment is something I wanted to hear. Goalies need fire and emotion, so being pissed off by Iginla is good sign.

  2. Good interview. Even under the old CBA rules, I’m pretty sure Josh could go to the Cuda after this next season. In 2026/27 rules he definitely could. But going to the NCAA is probably a better lifestyle and development than living slightly over the poverty line in Silicon Valley. No rush here for Josh, that’s why the Sharks drafted him.

  3. I think this was a seriously underrated pick. When I heard his name called, I had the same reaction as most fans which was “really? A goalie??”.

    But the thing is, goalies are voodoo and injuries happen. If something were to happen to Askarov there really isnt anyone else to step in. Plus it instills some healthy competition in the future and to use to use a late first to solidify the depth at that position in a draft year that isn’t that deep is kinda genius.
