If there was any sort of defense in front of Otter for any duration of the series his save % would easily be over .900% the non existent defensive scheme is the real problem and it should be an indictment on DeBoer that whenever his teams run into similarly talented ones they lose off Xs and Os. He isn’t a good coach, never has been. He relies on his players talent to do everything and that only gets you so far, he made ZERO adjustments from the start of Game 2 onwards. I’m embarrassed for DeBoer as a man, I genuinely think less of him after he threw Otter under the bus.
Regardless of whats happening, unless hes hurt, you run with your number one goalie. Ive been one of many who has said jake has to prove it in the postseason. After giving up 2 goals on 2 shots, that was the perfect time to let him try to prove it. Yes the team in front of him was bad but those guys didnt get benched. At very minimum he should have come back out for 2nd period, but in reality should have never been yanked.
Leafs fan here. Sorry I logged into the wrong conversation, it sounded kinda Leafy
Oilers breaking teams one year at a time haha Calgary then Vancouver. Is it la kings or dallas this year hahaha
I think Oettinger was ok. He needed to steal the series but he didn’t. The Oilers didn’t need to take 40 shots a game to win because they were better at capitalizing on their scoring chances.
How many goals did Dallas score in the last 3 games but it's ottingers fault lol
