Do the Canucks sell the farm for Mason McTavish?

Should the #canucks do everything possible to try to get Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks?

  1. If Vancouver trades lankanen instead of Silovs, they would have about 4mill cap space from that
If the Canucks kept Joshua and didn't go for Kane they would have another 2mill.
    Add to that Suter's money…
If two of those decisions were not made, the Canucks could already afford McTavish

  2. Our prospects are just that, prospects. Theyre unproven. Canucks are trying to "win now" so ya Id sell at least part of the farm for a more "sure thing" in Mctavish. Plus Lekkerimaki is a small, light forward, Mctavish is a big boy who can play a much harder game which is more a second line center roll. Plus, although Mctavish was born in Switzerland, hes grown up playing with Canadian boys and knows the Canadian game. We could use more of that Canadian style on the team.

  3. Lekkermaki looks like a perimeter player like Jake Virtannen. I'm not very excited by him. Trading him as part of a package for McTavish would be fine with me.

  4. Facts = We will never win the lotto.

    2026 1st (no lotto protection) + Willander + Klimovich/Raty/Karlsson + Chytil) = Mctavish (3rd overall) + 4th round pick

I gave a high price based on in division trade, and Anaheim being in middle spot of needs to get better but not in a rush.

  5. Lekkerimaki is the only pure shooter we have after brock.

    Willander is expendable with Mancini

    So

    Willander/Mancini, 1st, 2nd, Salarydump is what I'd offer

  6. McTavish for a young roster player + Willander + an unprotected '26 1st rounder. IF that's the cost you're crazy not to. There's no way Lekkerimaki gets it done vs Willander.

  7. It has to be realistic. The guy is good but hes not Conor McDavid. A first rounder, a top prospect (not named Cootes or Willander), a roster player and maybe a B list prospect (Bains or Kudratsyev). If its going to cost even more than walk away. Go with Chytil and hope Raty can take a step and Cootes develops fast.

  8. Yea, that's a really tough call. On one hand, Petey, McTavish, and Chytil down the middle sounds awesome. A healthy team + McTavish is solid, and the first rd pick could end up being in the 20s, and much easier to part with. We have some other promising RD prospects and desperately need to improve the top six.
On the other hand, Willander is a stud on an elc and could legitimately make this the best d core in the league.
I think I'd rather wait until some teams start falling out of the playoff race and becoming sellers. That said, I'd still be excited if this trade happened
