The Walman thing has a story that makes it make sense. We don’t know what it is. Yzerman hasn’t made every single move perfectly, but this one is SO bad, that the secret story must make it make sense. It can’t be that it’s a spite trade, or he asked to leave. I think this is one where “future considerations” didn’t hold up their end of the deal, we moved a piece, and a different trade got blown up after we made room for it. Is moving a piece before something else is signed a bad idea, yes, but it makes the most sense. Steve doesn’t want to burn his relationships around the league, but is clearly pissed about the circumstances surrounding that move.

Aaron, Donald is the one that drives me up a wall to this day. If we draft Donald, Suh might stay and we would have had the most dominant interior line.
Hindsight is always 20/20 on a draft – and obviously I wish the Pistons would have drafted Devin Booker and Tyrese Haliburton – but what sticks ijn my craw are the guys we had in our building who we simply gave up on. The Pistons had Spencer Dinwiddie on the roster and traded him for Cameron Bairstow who they ended up just waiving. The Pistons had Arron Afflalo on their roster and traded him and Walter Sharpe for a 2nd. The Pistons had KHRIS MIDDLETON on the roster and threw him in with Brandon Knight to make the salaries work trading for Brandon Jennings.
As for the Tigers, why complain about Wyatt Langford when Isaac Paredes was in the damn building and we traded him away!
God Jalen Carter would be amazing right now, I love Jahmyr and like LaPorta, this team is a Super Bowl contending offense and defense with Carter here except a record breaking offense and suspect defense. It could work out, then again there are so many unknowns it could also crash and burn.
There has to be some back story behind the Walman trade that the public isn't privy to. He played well for the Wings and the fans liked him, maybe someday we'll learn the whole story.
Yep Yzerman screwed up big time and the fact that it's painfully obvious that he only traded him because he didn't like the guy. These old school guys who run organizations also ruin them with their way of thinking. One of my friends brothers playing in juniors got screwed over by his team because they didn't like how he skated/skating style and he was far and away the best player and a 200 foot player but his skating strides rubbed the coach the wrong way. Absolutely absurd when some of these hockey guys mess up with players for the dumbest stuff. Knowing how Yzerman operates wouldn't shock me if it was Walman doing the gritty played a part, insane and the Yzerplan is DONE it's failed yet too many fans still have blinders on like he's still the captain of the team.

Taking Jamo over Jordan Davis isn’t even that bad, at least Jamo is a good player. Hayes instead of Haliburton is brutal though.
