  1. The Habs are building a powerhouse team that will be contenders for years to come. I like the drafting this year because with our young core locked up long term (or soon to be with Hutson/Demidov) we can afford to "swing for the fences" for the next few seasons. Exciting times ahead.
As for Struble I do not see a future for him here. Throw in something teams really do not like (arbitration) and he will most likely get moved since he will be the 7th or 8th defender this season anyways.
For the PP, you can switch Caulfield and Laine back and forth to keep other teams off stride and guessing especially if we have last change. Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!

  2. Slaf did not skip one first wave power play last year which is often a minute to a minute 30 sec where he had scores 12 of his 19 goals. So basically Slaf scored 7 little goals at 5 on 5. Just some stats that Slaf bias never talk about. Is he over rated? This year is a big year for him, we will see.

  3. i like struble a lot but habs are so loaded at defense. ideally i hope he finds a way to surpass carrier this year.

  4. scoring way above expected means theres a bit of puck luck. its not a good thing it means theres a good chance their goals will drop the next season if they maintain the same shooting metrics

  5. Please let the Demidov animation have a break for a while. We don’t need to see it every day at the first mention of his name.

  6. I will bet Laine starts PP#1 AND WILL BE SOMEWHERE ON THE TOP 6 GUARRANTEED. PEOPLE JUST DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THE PRO GAME WORKS. LANINE WILL HAVE TO JUST BE TERRIBLE OVER FIRST 10 GMS FOR ST.LOUIS TO REMOVE HIM. HIS IS BEING PAID TO SCORE AND THATS WHAT THEY WILL POSITION HIM UNTILL HE DOESNT… SO THIS DEMIDOV CAUFIELD PP#1 YOU CAN FORGET IT IF YOU THINK THEY ARE FORSURE pp#1 LIKE SUZUKI AND HUTSON.

  7. Plot twist

    Laine-Suzuki-demidov
    Caufield-dach-slaf
    Bolduc-newhook-veleno
    Gallagher-Evans-Anderson

    Guhle-dobson
    Struble-Hutson
    Xhekaj-carrier

Upgrade forward group with a Matheson trade

  8. Demidov reminds me of a young Alex Kovalev with this kind of puck control. Can't wait to see him this year! I say don't break lines that are already good have have chemisrty, Slaf and Caufield have to play with Suzuki on the first line and PP1, maybe just cut a bit of PP time from PP1 to give a bit more to PP2 since they are gonna be as good as PP1.

  9. 2 questions. 1. Will we see Reinbacher at all this season? 2. Let’s say pp1 is Slaf, Cole, Nick, Demi, and Hutson. What would pp2 look like? Dobson, Laine, dach, and who else? Newhook? Matheson? Gally?

  10. Laine-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
    Caufield-Dach-Demidov
    Bolduc-Newhook-Gallagher
    Veleno-Evans-Anderson

Putting Laine on L1 simultaneously helps Laine and gives Demidov a competent winger in Caufield.

    It might make sense.

  11. We have so many great defense prodigies, and still I would never let part of Xhekhaj since he is the only physical part of that team with Anderson. Please keep this player, his spot no matter what!

  12. What's wrong starting ivan on pp2, they gave lane time in nhl before putting him on pp1. Plus guys on pp get cold, he'll have his time there

  13. can't wait for the season to start . , Many great games to come with this unique Hab's talented team team . And more so when they get the experience of playing together like a school of fish on the Ice 😇😇✌✌💙💙

  14. i hope hughes & gordon make sure MSL doesn’t ruin this team by playing non aggressive like they do most times.. blocking shot & screening the goaltender isnt good period!!!!!

  15. I think laine will surprise a lot of people this season … he came back really fast from a bad knee injury last year and was considerably slower. This is his contract year and he has a whole offseason of getting ready. I bet will be faster stronger and better.

  16. Eventually, in z year or two when the prospects are ready for the NHL and challenging regular players for a spot on the team Gorton/Hughes can trade the prosoect or the regular player to fill
any holes in the line up. It's just a matter of time until we'll compete for the Cup.🏆
