MAJOR Changes Coming… This has SERIOUS Implications | Boston Bruins News
Multiple things have to change for this Boston Bruins team heading in the next season, and most of which is already internal. We’re going to be breaking down a few reports here coming out from multiple sources, going over what changes the Bruins have to make inside that will change this team ahead of next season for a playoff push. We’re going to break it down. I want to get your guys’ opinion as well in the comments below here at the end of the video. So, carefully listen, let me know what you think here about these two players in specific that we’re going to talk about today as we head into next season. and what you think they need to change themselves to get into a better spot on this roster. Before we do jump into all this news though, however, very quickly before we do jump in, ladies and gentlemen, you haven’t already, be sure to hit the sub button. As I mentioned, we’re on the road to 8K with the big goal of 10K. Your sports been absolutely incredible. Even the dog days of summer, we’re still getting out all of this Bruins content. You won’t want to miss it. But we want to jump straight in here now to a little quote from Michael D. Rosa going out about Elias Lindholm. Now, this is a big thing. Elias Lindol, he has him on one player that definitely is not on the uh kind of top of the contracts that they got in 2024 on this list. Now, this is what we see first from Michael D. Rosa. Lynome revealed at the end of the season that he had been dealing with a back injury that he suffered during training camp which negatively impacted him at the start of the campaign. Now that he’s healthy, perhaps he can have a big season the Bruins will be hoping for in 2526. Now, listing Elias Lindholm as one of these players who were signed by an NHL team in 2024. That was a classification that did not reach what people thought were they were going to be is definitely the right way to put Elias Lindholm in this case. He certainly did not have a great ear last year. Now, as I’ve been mentioning during last season and throughout the offseason when you’re heading into the last 10 games of the season, Elias Lindome looked like a completely different player. And there was something in me, something in my mind, you know, I kind of mentioned in videos as well that something switched for Elias. whether it was an injury, whether it was something else, you know, something had to change for Elias to get to that point where he was. And now we know it could have been something to do with his health. It may have been feeling a bit better at that point in time. And I think that’s something that we’re going to see a big jump in next year is Elias’s play style. And of course, he was on the first line, sent down to, you know, the second third on occasion very little, but on occasion the third and we went from there and saw that he took a big jump at the later half of the season as well. And now taking a look at Elias Lynome and what we really saw from him throughout his career when we see him with Calgary there before jumping over to Vancouver. He was a player that was really at his peak there. Of course, 78 points in his first year with Calgary and then going down throughout there staying around that number 50 then going up to 80. You know, he was a a very very solid player especially with what he brought for his 2-way game. And that’s what the Bruins are hoping to get from the Vancouver Conucks. Ultimately did not get that. But we still get a very solid 47 point season in 82 games from Elias when you’re comparing it to the rest of the team. And also staying healthy throughout the season is a big part. Playing through a back injury is not easy, ladies and gentlemen. And you got to give props where credit is due to Elias in this case for being able to play through that. Even though it probably would have been better for him to sit out and get healthy, he wanted to make sure that this team he could give to whoever give to the team whatever he could. and you know may not have been 100% but even if it was 80 that was probably the best option for the uh where we kind of val the value this team currently had at that point and that point in the season but I do also want another pull up another quote here from Michael D Roza coming out another one about Elias Lindel he said lolm’s finished this season could provide some optimism after being moved back up to the first line formed some strong chemistry with David Poshuk and Morgan Geeki in his final seven games of the season he recorded four goals five assist for nine points and a plus 11 rating This undoubtedly is is encouraging and the Bruins will be hoping he can build off that in the 2526. And I think now that you’re seeing a locked up Morgan Geeki, a David Poshock who’s coming off another 100 point season and a Lias Lindelm who’s going to be healthy and had a very hot end of the last year, I think this is could be one of the sneaky best top lines in the in the NHL. And I don’t want to say it’s going to be the best, of course, because I know it’s not going to be, you know, I’m not going to be a uh, you know, foolish Bruins fan here. I’m thinking that, you know, he’s going to have a great year. This team’s going to have a great year. this Lion’s going to have a great year and although he may not be the best team, I really don’t think this team’s going to be as bad as many people are saying and I think I feel like, you know, coming out of Elias Lindome where he’s been kind of held to with this team, I don’t think he’s getting enough credit, especially for what he’s been able to bring for his years past. I understand that the $7.75 million contract for seven years is an expensive deal, but if he can get back to that level, which he was for many years in Calgary and even going on just before he left Vancouver, he was a player that was exactly what many teams in the NHL want. And I think that that’s going to be exactly what the Bruins need next season is a healthy Eliz as at 2A center. So, let me know what you think about that as well. But there’s one other player that really in my mind as well, not necessarily listed as in this list that you know is for fail 2024 signings. But Casey Middlestat is another very interesting one when it does come down to what he brings to the table and also for the credit that Bruins fans are giving him. I know I know Casey Middlestat is someone that a lot of people have really harped on over the past few years. He’s definitely been a player that has not yet reached the potential a lot of people thought he was going to. And it is getting late, you know. I will acknowledge that it still is getting a bit late to kind of reach that potential. But he’s still at a point where he can be a very, very talented player in the NHL. And when it comes down to taking a look at Casey Middlestat and where he is right now with this team, he’s heading into a second year of his three-year deal at a $5.75 million cap hit, which was ultimately given to him prior to joining the Bruins. He’s a guy that, you know, at as a number, you know, it’s kind of crazy to say as a third center for, you know, a $5.75 million, that’s not great. But when you’re seeing him back again, once again, I’ll pull it up here as a left wing here for the second line between Pavle Zaka and Victor Arbertson or whoever will be joining that team on the second line rightwing slot there. Whether it is Victor Arbitson or not, I think that once again, we’re going to see Casey Middle have a very solid year and I think that he still needs to get that rhythm going. I don’t think he had enough time last year with the Boston Bruins to be able to make that happen. And jumping into Casey Middlestat’s career thus far, you see a lot of, you know, not just enough. You see the Buffalo Sabres there 59 points. Then the year after 47 looked very very good in those years but then dropped off to Colorado only playing 18 games um with them throughout that year after being traded and getting another uh 10 points off that which ultimately half point per game you really can’t complain there but getting less playing time as well makes a lot of sense than last year with the Colorado Avalanche 34 points in 63 games while only getting six and 18 with the Boston Bruins. I think a lot of people are only looking at his Boston Bruins tenure and fair enough you know you can’t really blame it from that’s really all we’re seeing from him thus far working with the Bruins and you got to look to what’s going to be ahead next year because I still see a lot of positive in Casey Middlestat especially looking at his years um you know really after 2020 um 2022 23 season he got a lot of pace there and if we see that next year I think a lot of people once again will be sneakily surprised with Casey Middlestat and what he brings to the table. Now, one thing I want to pull up as well from Michael D. Rosa here. Once again, another quote. The Bruins do not add big uh add a big name down the middle of the free agency in the offseason. So, there is a very good chance that Casey Middlestat will start the season as their second line center. Furthermore, given his playmaking ability, Casey Middlestat should receive power play time. Because of all the uh all this, Middle should be put into a position to succeed with the Bruins and this could lead to numbers going back up. up. And I feel like Michael Drosa once again here is kind of implying that, you know, looking at what we saw last year from the Bruins compared to the last other years with, you know, the Buffalo Sabres and the Colorado Avalanche. It is definitely a bad drop off there, but you’re going to get it back, especially after kind of jumping to a team that was really not ready to get a guy like Casey Middlestat. Ultimately, the deal worked out very, very well getting Willis and a second round pick for Charlie Coyle. More of a cap dump as well for the Colorado Colorado Avalanche. But Casey Middlestat would have been much better at that point last season joining a contending team. Now, he’s going to be on this team next year. He’s going to be a very valuable asset. And going back as well to the lines that we just pulled up a moment ago, taking a look at Casey Middlestat and Pavo Zaka. I think they’re interchangeable on the wing and at center. Whatever you’re really running with there, I think that Casey Middlestat will be probably the better center due to his skill ability and Pavaka also playing first line left wing last year for a little bit before Morgan Geek, he was up there permanently. So, I think that we’re looking at a good opportunity here for two of these players in specific. And one thing I wanted to point out as well before we do finish the video off is to make these contracts look a bit better, I wanted to pull up this right here going into where we kind of looked at over the past little while. Now, I know this is a $14 million AAV compared to an 8-year contract, but you’re looking at a major drop off in what the contract would look like due to how much the cap is rising. So, you know, first of all, I think the Elizand home deal is going to certainly look a lot better in a couple years when the cap is projected to rise significantly as you see in seven years time. uh taking a look at what would be a $14 million contract would be the value of an 8.9. So, you’re making it seem a lot better there as well as kind of going into what Casey Middle may be earning after this next contract. I know that’s still a ways away yet, but I think, you know, taking a look at this makes us feel a lot better in our heads about what kind of the contract value is in a couple years time. So, let me know what you think about all this news here today. Of course, we got a lot of stuff that’s going to be kind of trickling out like this throughout the next few days and weeks as the NHL season goes on. So, I want to know what you guys think here as well. Is there any other player that you think would be a good opportunity to kind of get into a rhythm, get here a little revamped off seasonason to get a push for the NHL roster next year? Let me know what you think about that in the comments below. That is all I have in this video. If you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well. I’m signing out though. Thank you for watching. Hope have a great day. Till you later.
