Gretzky was a compiler from age 30 until he retired. He only scored 188 goals during that span. Ovechkin from age 30 until today has scored 396 goals and counting.
Gretzky was only a good player because the goalies at the time were not athletic, like Martian Brodeur and Patrick Roy, but the weren’t as athletic, and Gretzky still tried his best. Not hating on Gretzky I love him very much because he played for my home team, the Edmonton Oilers, but hope this helps ❤
Bro people saying gretzky is bad because of the era he played in like what💀 was gretzky supposed to choose when he was born💀 it doesn’t matter if the era he played in wasn’t as skilled because he dominated his era more then anyone else has ever dominated another era. He is the greatest of all time.

It’s funny to me that Gretzky broke the record against the Capitals as a Ranger because, Ovechkin is 24 goals shy of tying the record.
The Capitals play the Rangers March 5th… which is 24 games away. It of course means he will have to score at a surreal rate, but would that not be something.
How does Ovi do it? Injury and comes back still scoring goals.

Gretzky has 400 more assists than ovi has points. Gretzky was an assist machine while ovechkin has more goals than assists so what should that tell you.
