Yeah, not happening. Would love to get him, problem is with the salary cap going up it will be easy for Minnesota to resign him. Guy is coming off a 60 point season, is due a nice pay day and say if the penguins offer sheet him, depending on the offer would more likely cost us our 1st round pick this year as well as our 3rd round pick. Key word being our there. Can't use other teams picks for compensation on an offer sheet.

Any deal the Sabres may make for him better include Foligno to get him back home to where he belongs. They can have anyone they want on the Sabres except Thompson
