Im a die hard Wings fan since the 70’s. I like Larkin. I would put quite a few Wings above him though, including Fedorov, who was usually second line. Larkin may be the Wings overall top player now, but they are a below average team. Wings will need a couple more stars, and at least one superstar, moving Larkin to second line where he belongs.
Larkin leads by example. You might be able to count on one hand the number of games in a season where he isn't one of the three most impactful members of the 18 man squad. His work ethic, his dogged effort, his talent both natural and earned, and his presence on the ice are all invaluable to the Detroit Red Wings. He might not ever reach 100 points in a season, but Dylan Larkin does all the quiet things right every single night; he reminds me of Henrik Zetterberg in that way.

Yeah he’s not a 100 point player. But he’s a good all around player. Amazing talent.

He’s still developing in the NHL as a player and an icon. It’s all about creating chemistry and trust with the rest of the team too.
His best bet is taking some ice time for himself alone or some 1v1 and trying to learn to get a little fancier with the puck
He’s a very straight forward hockey player and that’s what hockey is about but being the Wings captain there is alot more he could pull off
