The New York Rangers headed into this offseason with the idea of making some upgrades. So far, we saw the team add in a top pairing defensemen in Vladislav Gavrikov, but they may look to do more. If they’d take soucy, good deal.
There's a bunch of clubs that can offer more. A 3.5 mil cap hit for a young guy like Mario? We would be at the back of the line for that deal. We won't rip them off, their not stupid. And they have plenty of cap space. Unless…are we willing to move a top tier d prospect and a pick?🏒
San Jose would want another really good piece in a trade like that. Would they want a top prospect? Wouldn't do it! Would they take Brodzinski or Parsinnen with Soucy? Doubt it. If Scott Morrow can make the team, the D will be fine. It's a key Question. Watched some highlights of Gavrikov, & what jumps out is his awareness in the defensive zone(a major weakness of K'iller). He's also really good with his stick in disrupting the play.
I'd love to have Ferraro. He is a heart and soul player that can actually play defense (like Gavrikov). Soucy + Brod for Ferraro + Kostin
