  1. Devils miss the playoffs. Rangers, Canes, Caps, Blue Jackets (WC) in the metro. Tampa (WC), Toronto, Florida, Ottawa in the Atlantic. I really struggled between the Blue Jackets and Canadiens.

  2. Definitely agree with Rupp for once. NJ should be a bit better but it’s Carolina’s division to lose. Not the end of the world if they don’t, but I’d be surprised if it were anyone else given Washington’s likely regression and NJ still not quite being good enough

  3. I’m a homer, but in an offseason where most teams were status quo, development from youth and better injury luck will be two major change factors. CBJ should have plenty of both 😎

  4. As a Canes fan I don’t really care about finishing first, just strong and HEALTHY. Should be an exciting year in the Metro 👍🏽

  5. Why are these geezers sleeping on the blue jackets lol. One of the most exciting teams last year. They would have made the playoffs if their goaltending wasnt atrocious.

  6. Being a Devils fan, 3 things need to happen…resign Luke, dump Palat, bring in a legit top 6 forward. Devils can win enough games with a top 4, need that extra piece to make any noise in the playoffs

  7. Columbus 7th? When they were last team out of the playoffs and have nothing but young players who will do nothing but improve. Marchenko will score 40 or more goals. Greaves will eventually be the man in net. Mateychuk got overlooked because everyone fawned over Hutson. Putting the Flyers or Islanders above them is absurd.

  8. Think you are sleeping on the NYR. Everyone besides Panarin, Igor, and Cuylle ‘quit’ last year and they only narrowly missed the playoffs. Sullivan will employ a much more effective defensive system which will suit their personnel better. They’ll have a legitimate top pair on defense too. They should sleepwalk into the playoffs if they get the expected bounce back from players like Zibanejad, Lafreniere, and Trocheck.

  9. Sleeper teams are Columbus and Philadelphia. Either one could finish 4th, the Rangers and Isles are competing for that spot as well, NJ should be 3rd, Washington was comfortably the best team in the East for the initial 75 games of the season, I'd be shocked if they finish lower than 2nd in division

  10. I'd have the Isles in 4th. Rangers have way too many questions, new coach, etc. Devils could be on top but would you surprised to see them take a step back? I don't think they've done enough this summer. Philly could surprise but can they compete all season?

  11. this is the most absolute UNHINGED take ive ever seen. Rangers in 4th?? yeah no shot, they’re taking the division and east. Capitals are having their fall off from hell. The devils are a joke, and the canes are burnt out.

  12. I think the Flyers are going to be a very hard team to play against. But they won't have the talent to actually win the close games. I will say the Flyers will lead the league… in overtime losses. They need a solid #1 goaltender and at least one more scoring threat after Konecny and Michkov.
