Here are my thoughts on the huge trade that sent Noah Dobson to the Montreal Canadiens, as well as some other small trades that happened over the last couple of days! If you enjoy this type of NHL content be sure to subscribe to the channel if you are new!

  1. The defensive side of his game is a bit of a concern but the difference is he’s not going to be relied on to be the offence. He won’t have to take as many chances. Igood by the Habs

  2. I would have wanted to get rid of mailloux over heineman since we don't need mailloux as a prospect anymore really now and I really loved heinemans game. But for dobson it is what it is we got a stud. But isles enjoy heineman he's a hidden gem

  3. So Noah Dobson was picked with the 12th overall pick the Flames traded to NYI for Harmonic. He is being traded to MTL for the Flames pick that they gave them to take Monahan and the prospect the Flames gave to MTL for Toffoli. Jeez

  4. Easy YES, over here. Originally it was rumoured to be Mailloux, Rienbacher, and 17 25. This is better. I personally think this 1st round is weak after 10-12. Money is abit meh. Good move for the future for Habs.

  5. Well i dont love the contact. But that top pairing of Hutson Dobson reminds me of a slightly worse but younger version of the Hughes Hronek line which worked amazingly. I also think value wise the deal is pretty fair. Matheson gotta go though. This guy just does NOT fit anymore with Dobson now on the team.

  6. Is it crazy to think The isles could now get Brad the beast Marchy? Hear me out, panthers have the #112 pick so a 16 or 17 may interest them. Isles now have money to throw at him, Panthers may not be keeping him anyway as they have other players that need to eat. Trading Noah to get say 3 good years with Marshy would be amazing IMO

  7. i dont know about this trade for montreal, i worry theres gonna be a karlsson-letang situation where two off defensemen cant share powerplay time properly causing their points totals to suffer (their main value add)

  8. Montreal lost this trade. Have fun giving nearly 10 million a year to a defenseman who vanishes during games, quarterbacked one of the worst power plays in the league and is a liability defensively. At least he'll put up decent offensive numbers for you I guess?

  9. Sourdif was really good against my abby canucks in the finals. Kinda surprised Florida traded him tbh but a second seems fair

  10. i dont get it for the islanders. Heinenman is a 3rd or 4th liner and the draft is weak this year

  11. Noah Dobson reached a career high with 108 Give Aways this past season, but hey let's give him $9.5M for more than 4 years. No big deal 🙃

  12. Jesus Christ…Detroit really is just fine with sitting near the bottom of the Atlantic, I’m baffled that Stevie Y hasn’t done shit…and now that Montreal just got Dobson, I can definitely see them once again being competitive and I still think Ottawa will and of course Tampa, Florida and Toronto will still be competitive, Detroit is just sitting in at most sixth next season, unless he goes out and get a Mitch Marner or an Ekblad or do something because wow I feel bad for Wings fans at this point

  13. As a habs fan, I love this deal. I think with the addition of Dobson and already having, Hutson, Matheson and Guhle, I think it makes MTL one of the better puck moving teams

  14. as a mtl fan.. ny fans will love heineman he’s like a younger brendan gallagher physical, able to put his body on the line. I really liked his game in the playoffs

  15. Canadiens are my second favourite team behind Canucks.

They are doing way better at this whole "building a team" thing. Love Dobson at that AAV for the next 8 years.

Canadiens are hopefully gonna be a playoff team for many years to come

  16. Emil Heineman is similar to an Eetu Luostarinen, hard worker, has a nice shot, probably not as good as hands as Eetu.

The 16th pick ended up being Victor Eklund, who I believe will be a first line winger/top 6 forward so that’s a great selection he was a top 10 talent

The 17th pick ended up Kashawn Aitcheson, who was good value for the islanders and could end up being a middle pair defensemen behind Schaefer.

Very nice contributors instead of paying Dobson during a rebuild

  17. Mtl fan here, very excited by the Dobson acquisition. Our top4 looks legit now. But it's a bit bittersweet, Heineman is a guy I saw moving up to a middle six role soon. Picks 16th and 17th were the main assets I was hoping we'd use to acquire a 2C

  18. If in a couple years the rd is dobson, reinbacher and carrier ,thats a contending level group of right defenseman ,and a left side of hutson, guhle and either mattheson ,arber or struble .

  19. Heineman is probably the steal pf this trade for the islanders. I think he could be a solid 2nd liner, we saw flashes of brilliance in the first half of the season last year. I hope he finds his place in the league.

  20. Leafs haven't had a true 1D since Salming, should have traded Knies for Dobson.

Jealous of Montreal on this one, Treliving is a submental.

  21. Dobsons junior Coach says he is soft and is a stick checker, Sucks on defense! Logan Mailloux sucks at defense but at least he hits and is very offensive.

  22. @all islanders fans. You guys will enjoy Heineman a lot he’s a dog. He’s super fast tough and he’s lowkey got a cannon one timer. The kind of 3rd 4th liner you love to have

  23. Just a little input from a Habs fan on Heineman, the kid has a wicked wrister and was leading rookie for goals halfway through the season, besides that you described him pretty well. Fast skater, big body laying big hits, wicked wrister, responsible on both ends. To me he’s going to have a great career on a 3rd line. He’s the perfect 3rd line player

  24. The move is also brilliant for other considerations : it's going to be hard for hutson to ask for 11 when Dobson is making 9.5 in the same team. If Hutson wants to make 11 he'll need to have maybe 10-15 points above Dobson and his defensive game needs to be better.
