Marner was the scapegoat for Toronto’s failure. The ungrateful fans and media ran him out of town and I hope that he raises the cup with Vegas next year.

Subscribed-like the chat style.I agree with Pierre,the moves have been positive with little cost to the team’s draft capital.And to get Roy was a bonus what with the Marner free agency debacle handcuffing Treliving.I believe the Buds are not done yet,whether leading up to the season or at sometime leading up to the trade deadline there will be more player movement in an attempt to get grittier/tougher.👍

That headline is laughable. If the Leafs were to copy Florida's team, Matthews, Nylander and Tavares would have to be removed from the Leafs roster. Neither of those three players would be welcome on the Panthers. There are zero comparables on the Leafs roster to what Florida has going on. 😮

Marner a great player, love the guy. It’s unfortunate that it didn’t work out with him. To much money in four players! Needed to have a full team with 3 , 4, 6 million dollar players with two super stars.

Enjoyed the show. New to the channel, and look forward to future podcasts. Leafs still have a good team, but they will have to fight hard for a playoff spot, something new for this team. The Key is Matthews. As he goes, so go the Leafs. Like the off season moves made. Still have some concerns (Leaf fan, what else is new), but overall, looks okay. Hopefully they start the season well, build off that.
The Core 4 contracts are not the reason they haven't won, but the core 4 contracts were the reason they haven't won because the money allocated hamstrung the teams ability to build "playoff" style players. If you could pay every player 10 mil or 3 mil nothing would have changed because the DNA was not structured for deep runs. It was never about Marker the player, it was about the name on the back of the jersey instead of the logo on the front driving these players.
