The solution: MacKinnon disguises his release by shooting from the middle of his body, not just from a loaded forehand.
It forces goalies to react late which is why he leads the league in shots on goal and scores at a high rate.
If you want to turn more of your shots into actual goals, start with better pre-shot puck placement not just more power.
