This roster finishes lower in the Regular Season and goes farther in the playoffs already in my opinion. Could be wrong, time will tell.

He scored 4g and 4a in 13 playoff games in 23,24. That same season Marner had 1g and 2a in 7 playoff games with the leafs.
More playoff goals for more than 3x less money is an upgrade.
I hope we get rid of Kampf and Jarncrock no use for those guys anymore imo and we don’t have to attach a pick to get rid of them cuz the cap is gone up and a team could definitely just take them. Hopefully Cowan gets in this lineup somehow too

Maybe the leafs can send Kampf, Jarnkrok and Robertson in a package deal. Clears cap and sends two guys they don't want and a guy who doesn't want to be here. Who cares about the return.

I personally think theyre going to hold off on moving Kampf and Jarnkrok. I think there's still too many bottom 6 forwards that are out in UFA that will make less then them that could potentially do more. I think theyre going to wait it out for more and more of those guys to get picked up or sign overseas theb they may explore moving them again. At this point no team will help the leafs out by taking their money without a sweetener. But I think closer and closer to puck drop or even in training camp as injuries happen you may see that shift and they may be able to move both those guys for nothing or late round picks. I think if Treliving could move then without a sweetener they would be gone already. Reeves is the exception because theres not alot of true enforcers in UFA that command respect when they play for a team and can keep guys off his teams young players. So that's why I think they were able to move him. But even then it wasn't to free up his cap hut because they took back salary. Yes they could burry him . But they also could have burried almost all Reeves in the minors as well.
I truly don't believe Laughton will be playing centre. I think they want him on the wing. Either 3LW or 4LW. I could see a world where the 4th line is

That right there isnwhat you call a freight train line. No defence would want to play against that line. Lorentz 6'4 216. Joshua 6'3 206, Laughton 6'1 191. . That's the 4th line I see when I look at this roster.
You're right when you say they're not done. I don't think Treliving would go out to the Media and say they're focusing on a legit top 6 forward and not get one. Believe the problem is Cap space and moving Kampf and Jarnkrok. As everyone says. Also the leafs don't have alot in their system. After Cowan and Danford there's a HUGE drop-off of valuable prospects. Not to mention they don't have a 1st rounder until 2028. So alot of these teams arnt going to give up a legit top 6 forward without a Cowan or Danford . It's just not happening. Thats why I think Treliving is in no hurry to move Kampf or Jarny. He knows he's not set on paying what all these teams want for what he wants. Any trade whether it be Rust,Tuchman,Kyrpu,Schenn, etc is going to require one of Danford or Cowan. It's just the way it is. Teams arnt putting a whole lot of value on 2028 1st round picks right now. Until they get closer and see how deep that draft could be.
I think the only legit chance the Leafs have to get that top 6 forward without giving up one of Cowan or Danford is with the Penguins. I think Rackell would be that only option I think Rust would require one of them. But we all know how Dubas loves "his guys" I could see a world where dubas swings a trade with Treliving spmethibgnlike

If Domi Plays with Knies and Matthew's he should be playing RW not LW domi is actually good on his off wing.
I don't want to do anything to mess up Knies development/confidence right now. Let him play his wing let him thrive before you start trying to move him all over.

If you wanna put Domi up on RW of Matthew's and get a LW for the 2nd line that's possible too. Joshua is actually a solid cebtreman who is good on the draw. I see him playing 4C.
I actually really like Matthews-Tavares-Roy-Joshua as their centre's. And I like that 4th line even more. They're big. Mean. Throw hits and forcheck like there's no tomorrow. Talk about wearing down a team… that line could do it in spades. I really hope they put together that line.
can we just agree to disagree , no one not even treliving knows how berube will fill out his line up card , it's early but i'm liking how the bottom six is rounding out , if kessel could rebound after his surgery joshua can too
he hits everything that moves and has a career playoff total of 4 goals in the playoffs, 1 more than mitch marner high
I bet you he will be more impactful then Marner in games 5,6,7
