We need to see Matthews Take over games. regular season and Playoffs. We need to see that this year especially. Matthews needs to have a good stretch in the Playoffs of him just owning the ice and putting up points
The biggest mistake the leafs did was signing Tavares. He had no playoff experience. Toronto needed depth in their lignup. Tavares on another team made sense but it tied the leafs hand. Letting marner walk is just another sign of stupidity. No wonder the leafs can't win.
This team needs to learn to stop panicking every time a game isn't going well. The "core 4" era Leafs is the most frustrating team I have ever watched. Focusing on star players is over and if the dominance of Florida doesn't wake them up to that fact I don't know what will.
Yeah, Nylander is laid-back, and some of it is hir personality. But you guys are forgetting that he is basically rasid in the NHL circus.

Like what stuff they smoking, doesn’t play defence, gives up on icing when in the playoffs, fumbles the puck on the blue line more the Marner bad plays, can’t crack a 100 points, has 14 less points in games 1 thur 4 (when you can win/lose a series) then Marner. Dangle YELLING AT HIM TO GET THE PUCK IN GAME 7 AGAINST FLORIDA! As he watched it in the corner with no one else around for about 2 to 3 seconds… and 11.5 for a player who actually dropped points from last season with only 5 more goals than previous… Nylander should’ve been traded well before he ever signed that extension. Even gave up on a icing against Tampa Bay and it was in the playoffs, and god forbid he gets hit, he’ll just try to take their head off with his stick, but SURE A GREAT PLAYER.

Leafs are in a good spot where less is more. I guarantee as a Sens fan that the leafs will be in the conference finals this year. I think they will take another step and be able to play a more complete game. With Dakota Joshua the leafs are just like every other playoff team. Now they need the supporting cast to put up numbers in the regular season. Expect 80 point seasons for AM and WN.

The Leafs are most definitely not good enough.
They have no draft picks but acquired quite a few bottom six players, and have two prospects (Ben Danforth and Easton Cowan) to offer in a trade package. Why keep prospects for a future where, yes, they will be even better (or not) but the team has no chance vs trade now to make the Leafs a serious contender today??
Sorry guys, but this "everyone is now trying to be <insert stanley cup champ>" is such a low IQ take that media should realize just isn't reality. GMs aren't morons and just copying each other, the Panthers team is built in the same way that literally every stanley cup champion ever was built, DEPTH. Depth doesn't look any certain way, it's just the key element to winning. Can't be 2 lines, doesn't work. So sure, bigger, faster, tougher, what ever, but teams need it ALL and look to fill gaps everywhere to be deep. Not just to copy other teams.

Matthew's is going to go off now. Back to 50+ goals a year. Hard no to karlson, and the injury prone Hamilton. They didn't get it done because the panthers were 8 million over the regular season cap. Not to mention Stolartz was injured. Is this before the Dakota deal? Btw, pls, enough about Marner.

Knies is in the core
From a Bruins fan the new name should be called the cheaper core 4. Knies is a steal at that price and Tavares left 3M+ on the table. Tavares had 37 goals last year. Just cause he gave the leafs the biggest team discount in team history, it doesn't mean he's not apart of the core. Knies is an upgrade on marner in the playoffs so how isn't he apart of the core? New name. Way better chance of winning during this Cheaper core 4 era. I hope I'm wrong.

skinners already in the NHL. A new goalie coach isn't going to do anything. Maybe tell him to not play out in the hash marks. He's not going make him faster with better dexterity. Unless they get some new goaltending it's over for the oilers and Conners outty. And guess what. It's all skinners fault.
