Agreed Steve. Been saying it for years with this lot; we will not win a thing with this group. The construction of this team is so flawed that it’s absolutely frustrating to see that we’ve wasted 8 years on this same insane course and nothing has changed or will.

I’ve always thought keep 16,88,34 and they will be in their prime. 91 we can move on from. Address defence and depth issues then. Wish it was next year but patience is a virtue.
They didn’t overpay willy, they were unwilling to sign him in the summer when he was willing to sign for cheaper and now that he’s played the best season of his life he’s cleaned house… they dug themselves into this position. What were you gonna let him do, walk into free agency? Nope

The way people keep talking about trading Marner is wild. The guy is out there making awesome plays, helping with defence and scoring some goals too. So many of Matthews' goals came from a Marner assist. Tavares and Nylander should go before Marner any time
You can help us all by stop blaming the players about making over 11 million AND start calling for the GMs and Presidents heads instead. They gave them the money. Everyone would take it.
Marner is an underrated on defence, he is one of the best defensive forward in the league, we should keep him. however, Nylander is defenetely overrated, he wont be trying hard after he gets the fat contract. prof me wrong
They’re pretty much just trying to wait out this Tavares contract and retool when it’s over. Honestly it’s probably the right strategy given rhe current build of the team
This a "typical fan" of sports = whine/complain about not winning for years, while not having the "right players" to be successful = then the second the team starts to solidify "Top-level" players long-term, losers like this start to whine/complain about spending money that gets you the best players
I think Matthews likes to show off a lavish exuberant lifestyle that makes everybody else in the locker room want to spend more money on Fashion than bringing a winning culture like Pittsburg and Colorado did.

Really hope your FO can figure it out cause it’s good for the city and good for hockey. Canada should always have 2/3 teams contending.
