Every teams scraps the leafs pickup is the next great fine. Why would the leafs be looking for a RD unless it's for the 3rd pairing. Then you have Benoit and OEL fighting for the final spot which makes no sense. Hamilton and Karlsson are the last guys the leafs need. Can't see any team taking Rielly's contract, so who do you trade tanev, McCabe or Carlo hope not. Leafs are stuck with this d which is very good. They are going to have trouble with depth scoring so they better keep the puck out of their own net. Need to be top 5 in goals against.

However, given that the cap is not fully inflated, prioritizing the removal of Morgan's no-trade clause is critical for Tree's job security; otherwise, he may face termination next year.
Currently, the team has two players, identified as 19 and 64, whom they have sought to trade for an extended period, yet they have been unable to attract any interest in their services. This scenario underscores their diminished value in the league and should serve as a wake-up call for management. It is alarming to have two key bottom-six players on the roster, costing nearly $6 million combined, yet contributing minimal utility.
If Tree cannot facilitate a trade for Morgan (including persuading him to waive his no-trade clause) and fails to offload players 19 and 64, I can confidently predict he will be dismissed next season. Should he neglect to learn from the missteps of previous management—particularly the missed opportunity to trade Mitch before his no-trade clause went into effect—he risks repeating the same mistakes with players 44, 19, and 64. In light of these challenges, Tree may not be fit to continue as the general manager of the Leafs

Marner, Kampf, Holmberg out, Roy, Maccello, Cowan in . Are we really any worse off? I wouldn't bet on it, come playoff time, and especially with at least one more quality forward coming in the mix. A forward that will be a sure upgrade on any combination of Robertson, Reaves or Jarnkrok.

When Marner started with this Leafs, his shot couldn't break a pane of glass, but it got much better over the years, Can any explain why Rielly hasn't been able to develop a slapshot in all this time, especially since he's been such a key part of the powerplay all these years.
