He and I were talking online. I said, “Oh, you know what, man? this guy, he just got into my head. I I got to do some videos, guys. Joshua is is uh one of our fans and he’s a solid fan. He knows some exabers. We were talking, you know, and but he is thinking about and I want to push this out there, Joshua, before I start this video. Joshua has something like 3,000 hockey jerseys, folks. And I think he should start uh a jersey channel. So, I’m hoping that if he does that our fans, our Saber fans at least will go and support it, which I’m sure we will, you know. So, I’m going to put that out there ahead of time. And let’s get on the video, guys. Now, here is the clip right here that I picked up. And shout out goes to Brody. I think it’s Brody Bro, I think it goes, “Love this deal, Wayne. I will give Adam’s credit, but also I think we should give props to Kakalinan. The GM moves since he joined the team have been all good so far. Brody’s right about that, folks. But Brody, I’m going to do you one better. You might not like this, but I think if we’re going to give Kolan credit, we have to give Pagoula credit for hiring him. You see? You see where I’m going with this? That’s part of it. As much as the fans hate him and don’t want him as our fearless leader, I think we have to look at this and say um you know, we’ve got to give Pagoula credit too on on this call. So, it’s a good win all around for the Sabres. you know this uh getting Kakalign and I’m pretty sure right now you know and this is and he’s talking about just so you know guys about this move is the 2-year deal that was um that was just signed now as we move forward I tell you guys I am loving this off season because we’re in suspense Okay, we are People say we’re not doing nothing. Yeah, I want to go back and look at this. Now, there’s a rumor going around. I don’t if you guys have heard it. I’m pretty sure you have. And um I’m just want to check something here to show it to you guys. Maybe I should cut this out and show it to you. Well, I’ll just tell you what what what else is the point. Um, you know, there’s no point in me uh in me dragging this out, but uh let me just if we were to buy out Samuelson, okay, and I know I’m going off topic. I’m going to get back to Brody’s topic in a second. If we were to buy out Samuelson, I just want you guys to know this. His 5 years left at 4.3 million bucks. I’m going to round it off. 4.3. If we were to buy him out because of his age, we would have to pay him t a 10-year cap hit of only 714 grand. Guys, something to think about. Okay, I’m not one that I think we should give up on Samuelson, but I know 90% of you have. There’s something for you to think about. It would be 10 years at 714 grand if we were to buy out Samuelson. So I think that’s okay. And as let me get back to my video now. Okay. So what we’re talking about love this deal Wayne the two-year um extension of Byum of course I’ll give Adams credit. Kakalinan GM move since he’s here proved the team is everything does look better. Right. It it getting Kalinan seems to have stabilized a little right. what’s going on. But we still got to get that we got to get that top forward, guys. We we got to figure it out. We got to make a deal cuz I I was talking with Joshua and I was we were discussing the same thing. I mean, it doesn’t make any sense yet for Benson and Kulic to be in the top six, guys. It just it’s too soon. Benson’s got to get bigger and more developed. He just does or he’s going to get injured. he will get a head hit. Something will happen to the kid. And then uh Kulick just isn’t experienced enough. When I see I cringe when I see Kulich as our potential top line guy, you know, I’m like, so we’ve got to figure this out. We’ve got to get we’ve got to get on it. Uh I don’t think we need to replace two guys. We can maneuver with what we have in the system. Yes. Yes, we can play around with the Benson idea and Kulic idea, but not on the top line. All right. So, we got to figure that out. We do. I’m going to have to make an inside the numbers video soon, guys. I’m going to have to look at that because right now, you know, we need Norris healthy this year, okay? We need Josh Norris healthy this year. We need Tae Thompson healthy this year. And we need Alex Tuck healthy this year. That should be our top line in my opinion. If it was my call, Norris at center and you got Thompson on the left and you got Tuck on the right. I mean, you know, let’s face it, Ta can play any of those. So, that that would be my top line. He’s done a lot of damage on the left page. So, that would be my top line. And then, you know, you play around with it after. Then you kind of got to see. We got to see what Mloud brings this year. You know, we got to see what he brings. Zucker, we know what he’ll bring. He’ll bring 100% energy to this team again. And then after that, can Quinn take a step? Absolutely. Yes, he can. He can’t do any worse than last year, the way I see it. And then after that, you’ve got your also Rans. You got to figure it out. What about Josh Don? What is he going to bring to the team? He might bring a lot of energy we’re not expecting. So, there’s a lot here, but we need another name in that mix is what I’m saying. You’ve only got two guys making more than 5 million. Two. You need another name in there. You need a five6 mill. You need a You need a $6 million player added to this. A real $6 million player, not an overpaid bum. So, if the Sabres can do that, you know, I think uh like Brody’s talking about this deal is just more momentum going forward. And Brody, if we if at least now if we if we trade out Jim and I talked about this online, if we if we trade out uh Byum, well, you know what? A lot of teams are going to be happy with that cap hit. I I don’t get these saber stations, man. and they’re saying, “Oh, you know, well, he’s kind of like I was hoping, you know, I I it’s a maybe a bit of an overpayment.” I’m like, “What are they talking about? Have has any of these channels watched him?” I don’t get it, guys. I just don’t. Am I am I imagining he’s good? Really good, you know, like really good. So, I guess we’ll have to see. We’ll have to see how this plays out. But right now, our mission has to be to get one more veteran forward that’s worth $6 million and put him in this lineup. And if we’re going to buy out Samuelson, it might backfire in the long run. Some other team like Boston might pick him up and he might go on to do pretty damn good and we’re going to be like, “God damn it, we did it again.” I don’t know. I think it’s too soon to give up on the kid, but you know, he’s still still I think he has a lot of hockey left. Or does he have a lot of injury plagued hockey left? That’s my concern. Not that he can’t find his game. I think he will, but can he stay healthy? Cuz if he can’t stay healthy your whole career, ask a guy named Gorg Kluak in Boston how that worked out. This was an awesome defenseman they had. For those of you that never heard the name, Gorg Kloac was awesome. But my goodness, like what? How sad that was. His career. What happened? You’ll indulge me for a sec, guys. I just want to check. I don’t know why that name came into my head. It just did. Gord Kuzzac. Let me just see how many how much he played. Yeah, a picture of him here in stilts. God. Gard Kuzac played a total, folks, of 299 games. He was the first overall pick in 1982. He was awesome. And uh look at this. 70 games, 80 games. Did not play in 8485. Me 8586 played 70 games. 8687 did not play. Then 87 888 66 games. Then look at this. 88 89 three games. 89 90 eight games. 90 91 two games. His last three years he played a total of 13 games. What a waste of a career. 6’4 210 lb. Oh my god. The potential for greatness was there. Hall of Fame career probably that got snuffed out by by his uh injuries. And that could happen to Samson. Not saying he’s going to be was awesome as Kuzac, but a potentially very good career.
