Glenn Miller and the Army Air Force Orchestra: “The St. Louis Blues March “
The St. Louis Blues March (W.C. Handy) From Glenn Miller and the Army Air Force Band, 1955. This track is taken from the 2001 remastered CD boxed set reissue.)
Back in 1975, I began playing Trombone, and then in High School I switched to Trumpet. Our music teacher Mr. Schuster was really into big band music, especially Glen Miller. Anyway he really turned us onto this type of music, and it was a blast to play this type of music when we put on a concert. Hearing this song brings back some really great memories… Thanks, Mr. Schuster…. You were a great teacher, and a great inspiration….❤
Try and compare this music with rap so called music. Nearly 80 now, bought this record with my first wage package, still playing and love it. Wonder what music he would have made if he has survived the plane crash.
It's the Glenn Miller sound it grabs you and it doesn't let you go and you are hooked for life, I got hooked in the 1960s and I have noticed all through life bands and singers come along with that certain sound and it sticks with you for the rest of your life.
This is my favorite Glenn Miller tune! When I changed battalion command and retired from the Army in 2002 the Army band director played this song for me when I “Trooped the Line” during my change of command ceremony. I played trombone in HS and college and he let me sit in on a couple of their concerts. As a result I had a special relationship with the 282nd Army band. I considered this a very special gift from the guys in the band. Hooah❤

Gran orquesta saludos
Awesome music
After this song we would hear the PA say "please rise and remove your caps for the singing of our national anthem by Charles Glenn"
I listen to it and see in my mind's eye the scene from The Glenn Miller Story
My Dad was a Ball Turret Gunner on a B17G in 1944 and loved all of Glenn Miller's music 🎶!
Великолепно 👌👍
We used to play this recording at high school pep rallies. The other drummer and I played along. Fun!
I believe there’s a line in the movie, “The Glenn Miller Story,” that his music will last forever. I believe that’s correct.
I wish they had this music at the Army parade❤
