This has Bruins Fans BUZZING…
This has Bruins fans buzzing as a recent article from The Athletic has dropped their top 100 prospects and Map Watcher, although featured on the list, is not where Bruins fans want them to be. We’re going to be breaking that down as well as going over a brand new Bruins prospect entering the NCAA once again and ending this video off with a very special note for one Bruins legend. We’re going to be breaking it all down here in this video. Before we do jump into it though, ladies and gentlemen, we’re on the road to 8K with the big goal of 10K. And your sports been absolutely incredible as of late. We’re currently sitting about a third of the way to 8K and our goal is to get there by the end of July. I know it’s a tough goal, but I know you guys can do it. Your support has been absolutely incredible like I mentioned, but we do need to jump into this video and get in here to some very interesting notes and Bruins fans are very excited about what we’re seeing right now from this team. Even though it seems like this team is done making moves, the team is done for the summer, things are continuing to come out and continuing to show why this team is going to be a very interesting and much better team than what we had seen last year. Now, I wanted to pull up this athletic article first going over Matt Pocher ranked 88th in prospects who have been drafted by NHL teams in the NHL. Of course, we saw James Hagens at five and a lot of fans were not too happy that Matt Pocher was down at 88. However, the way I view this and the way I think everybody else should view this as well is that you can only go up from here. Matt Pocher is a guy who certainly have been up and down throughout his career in the NHL thus far, but has so much potential to bring into this team and it’s only a matter of time until we actually see it. And this year is the best year we could probably see for Matthew Potra. Now with what the team is looking like, where we currently stand, who’s been on the team and whatnot, it really seems out to play that we have a blank canvas to work with Matthew Patcher on this year. And we saw last year some very promising stuff come out from his AHL tenure. And I wanted to pull up what Scott Wheeler had to say on this from The Athletic. He was the one that made this article of these top 100 prospects. He says, “There’s a lot to like about Mattra. coming up. He is viewed as an above average playmaker, athlete, and overall player whose game was predictable, sorry, projectable. He then made the NHL at an early age on that basis, but some growing pains have set in, and he’s still trying to find his identity slash a clearly defined role, which I think he struggled with even at the 2024 World Juniors trying to do too much there after he’d make the NHL club. I did think his time in the AHL last season was positive. So he really is viewing the same stuff that we see with Matthew Quattro is that it’s just a lot of growing pains not finding the role that he needs to play yet has been a very evident issue with Matthew and especially as he mentioned there stemming from that 2024 World Juniors and as a Canadian and I’m sure you guys watching as well from either from the US from Canada watching Matthew especially knowing that he was already on the team before that really didn’t look like the Matthew Pattra that we had all seen previously and before and hope it really did seem like he was doing too much but ranked 88th now. And the way that this team is really coming to look together and structured, it does seem like with what he did in the AHL last year, 24 points in or sorry 41 points in 40 games. He is a very very good pace for a player that his caliber is going to bring to the NHL. And of course, even last year in the playoffs, six uh four points in eight games. Wasn’t great there. But on that side of things, we really have to look at the NHL going forward. And even though he’s been, you know, 15 points in 33 games, 1133, he’s been on a pretty good pace. And I don’t think we can complain about that yet because we have to remember he’s still only 21 years old with two seasons under his belt at the NHL level, albeit not a full season. So, let me know what you think about Matt Po. Do you expect him to take the big jump this year? I honestly really do. I’m hoping that we’re going to see a big jump for Matthew, not just in his play style, but also in the NHL level. I hope he stays here this season and I think it’s a real opportunity for him to do that and especially with the $2 million cap hit the Bruins currently have. He’s a guy that at a young price and at a a good price can stay in this team for for quite a bit of time and especially even have a contract extension. Things really seem to be working out well for him. But I want to jump in as well to another kind of prospect update that we do have for the Boston Bruins. We have another one, another player that is coming to the NCAA which has been a pretty big trend the past few seasons for the Boston Bruins is we know the Bruins Don Sweeney Cam Neely love their players that are at the NCAA level. Not just better than the CHL due to the older players, the better and more skilled players, but it also translates to being able to stay local to the Bruins and being able to closely and more intently monitor their development throughout their careers. And I do want to pull up this and at that third level pipeline only strengthened this week when the word that 2025 draft pick fifth round pick that is Cole Chandler has committed to Northeastern hockey for the 2627 season. Word of Chandler’s 2627 commitment to the Huskies was first reported by Nor Eastern’s hockey blog. So once again another young prospect, another Bruins prospect included joining in the NCAA after the CHL made it that they can go go to the NCAA and we’re seeing a lot of players do that and a lot of top talent. And there’s going to be a big trend over the next couple years where we’re going to see a lot more younger talent, especially teams who have a lot of prospects in the CHL translate and move their game to the NCAA to get better and get more skilled coming to the Boston Bruins. And that’s a big part of where the Bruins currently stand. They seem to be ahead of that trend. And I do want to pull up a list of NCAA players that we saw from league prospects that are currently on the Boston Bruins organization. So you see Cole Chandler there on the bottom. He is in the uh the QMJHL listed here going from Shawinigan now to Nor Eastern. But having a lot of these prospects here, you know, Boston College, Providence, and Boston University being a big three for the Boston Bruins where they love to see their own uh players, there’s going to be a big list. And there is more included, which I don’t have even here listed. And it’s a big sign to show what’s coming forward for the Boston Bruins and what this team is going to not just look like in a few years, but how the development has been such an important part of this team. I think that Don Sweeney and Cam Neely really have been quite clear on the thought that they understand when you’re looking at different teams and different kind of play styles that the NCAA is a much tougher and better league and you develop quicker at that age group. So looking at these players, I think we’re going to have especially Will Zeers coming in this year to the NCAA. We’re going to get a real good look at a lot of players from James Hagens, Dean Lano, Oscar Yelvic, and as I mentioned, Will Zellers. What’s going to happen with them throughout this season is going to be a very big and clear kind of clear-cut pathway for the Boston Bruins of how they’re going to go about not just their trade deadline, but the future drafts and future free agencies to be able to fill in the holes that will not be filled by these NCAA players. So, once again, kind of want to pull up a little bit from Cole Chandler here about what he brings to the table. He’s a very solid player, a very very young talented uh option that the Bruins are going to be working with. And I’m very excited to see what he does spring. And even though he’s a fifth round pick, not someone to sleep on necessarily due to the fact that the NCAA is going to be a big jump for him. And even though he was pretty solid this year, there’s going to be a lot more stuff that he’s going to learn here in his NCAA tenure. And especially what he brought in the playoffs last year, 12 points in 16 games. And comparing that to what he did in the regular season, much better, especially continuing off that hot streak going to a new team in a new league, you’re definitely going to have that little high to go off of. And that’s definitely going to be a good start for his momentum in the NCAA. And of course, a center left shot, 6’2, not the smallest guy. Don’t sleep on a fifth round pick. I, you know, we saw a lot of good ones from the Bruins here in the past few years. And we’re also seeing a lot from across the NHL, a lot of sneaky talent come out of these rounds. So, just someone to keep an eye on here as we do get towards the NCAA season. But we do have one more update here and this one is a nice little tribute to Yaraslab Halaku per Mad per TSN per everybody for him he is retiring the Bruins legend we see him now going to end his career and this is going to be a very very kind of bittersweet moment for him especially after playing for so many teams he did what he did for the Boston Bruins everything that Yaros Hak’s career did that even the Montreal Canadians as much as we hate to see him he was a legend across the NHL wherever he was and he’s not one of those you know superstar legends but what he did for the Boston Bruins he might as well be considered that Of course, you look at his stats here through the 20 uh to 18 to 2021 season. He was a guy the Bruins relied on and this is an absolutely kind of bittersweet moment for him. So, congratulations Yaros Halak obviously on a successful and very very fantastic NHL career. But I want to know what you guys think about your favorite moment from Yara Halak before we kind of do finish this video off. Let me know in the comments below with all the other news that we have today. Your thoughts on that. But that is all I have in this video. If you did enjoy it, give it a like, hit the sub button as well. Remember, we had a lot of Bruins news coming throughout this off seasonason. You’re not going to want to miss it. We’re going to have it all here for you guys. But like I said, that’s all I got. Thank you for watching. Hope you have a great day.

Pots AHL player at best you'll see 😆
i agree
Poitrais is NOT an NHL player too small not physical enough.
Poitras is never going to be an nhl regular, you haven’t got a clue brother.
This Ncaa thing has been going on for ten years now. Its why we have horrible drafts and not much of a prospect pool. These guys get a frat club mentality, less physical approach to hockey. Get more Canadians!!!
Bruins fans are not buzzing. We are disgusted with ownership and the front office. We have been for a long time.
I'm not buzzing nor am I very exicted.
Potsy is a forever minor leaguer.
Until he proves otherwise, Poitras is a slightly upgraded version of Jack Studnicka.
I feel like Jelvik and Gassue will have great senior years in college this season with Hagens, Moore, and Létourneau
