If we trade Hage i Can see a future where Hage become a villain and haunt us for years to come and Mctavish become a drunk.

No to trading Hage for me as well. I am tired of seeing players that I like being moved out. The team may be better but I need a break. It particularly annoys me if we lost Hage as part of a package and had to give up more. It's one thing to give up a future 2C for a current 2C as the risk that you're giving up a better player is offset by the guarantee of you know what you've got now. But this is the kind of trait that having a extra right-hand defenseman ready to go would be beneficial since we would be having to trade a prime position for a prime position. Obviously if Mailloux were part of a trade package they will have to be more maybe a lot more but it would be more appetizing to me than losing a kid with such an emotional connection to the Habs. Probably controversially, I would rather give up a player like Hutson to bring back a haul. Striking now would mean that we would maybe be the ones that received an overpayment. Of course I would only trade him to a Western Conference team because it would kill me to see him playing the habs more than once or twice a year

Any trade for McTavish, is going to require contracts going back the other way, as it would be the only way to sign McTavish and get the team under the cap.
He is going to want decent $$$ long term. Maybe not Suzuki and Dobson money, but probably not far off Slaf money.

Veleno is not a movable piece like Mailloux was. He is a montreal guy, from riviere-des-prairies, Hughes was his agent, now his agent is Phil Lecavalier( brother of Vincent Lecavalier). Kent Hughes have his back and know that Veleno can bring more than what most people think. Pierre McGuire said that he would love to see a 3rd line Bolduc-Veleno-Anderson… and i like the idea … even if it means that the second line would be Laine-Dach-Demidov… i would prefer Bolduc instead of Laine.
Its not that i dont like Laine, its just that he is awful at 5vs5… maybe Deminov will pull enough players around him to allow Laine to be wide open for his shot.
Obviously Habs will move a D or 2 and a forward or 2 to get a Mactavish. It s all they lack at this point. They could throw in a goalie too

Veleno is a 25 year old failed former (30th overall) center draft pick signed for a bit above minimum. Might supply some depth in Laval?
At this point we have gone this long it is unconscionable, unwise to drop an asset to get rid of the Price contract. Suck it up for one more year. Rebuild is not over. Wait another year.
Crazy to move Hage and not enough to get Anaheim who has 29$ million in cap space to move McTavish. You have to give up more.
Veleno does not have good faceoff percentages. He was fifth on his team in faceoffs taken last year behind Copp, Compher and Kaspar.
He is depth in Laval and he scores like a quarter of a point a game.
He's an AHL player at best.
Exceptional player status yesterday. That was yesterday. He's 25 so 10 years removed from his exceptional status and he has shown nothing with a Detroit team who desperately needed him to succeed.
If it were even possible-Matheson, Kapanen or Beck and a pot sweetener maybe something Anaheim need to increase in there depth with be it a goalie some picks wtv for McTavish 🤷♂️

Price was the Dumbest contract Montreal ever signed. Worse than Gomez. Price will be the only Goaler in the hall of fame that never won a Stanley cup or a championship. Inducted on potential alone and 3 playoff rounds… ridiculous !! We gave way too much and got absolutely no return on a 100 million dollar investment. I was calling for them to keep Halak and trade price and got laughed at in the day… I’m really not in agreement and I believe price has no place in the hall of fame, no way !!!!!!

8:23 to me this is an "increase competition" signing. Dach, Evans, Newhook and Veleno should be fighting to earn the 2C and ice time overall. In this foursome we have 2 players who were expected to do big things and have fallen way off and two who have always been projected at bottom six. Let em all fight it out. Without another signing we'll likely be weak at 2C, but this should help us get the most out of what we have. And I expect Veleno to play PK and do a very good job there

Zero chance of trading Hage in my view. KH is building something here and Hage with his story and of course potential… not in KH's DNA to that with Hage. Hage has a spot on this team in 3 years +/- . Mailloux was different and he had shown his potential and too many other defense options .. a prospect had to go.

Would love to see what kirby dach can do over a healthy 84 games…please, no more season ending injuries ! He's only 24 , hope he has many good years ahead …with demidov slavkovsky zharovsky dobson etc, habs will contend for cup in 2031 2032 2033 especially if fowler becomes the next carey price
