Examining the NHL.com’s Projected Carolina Hurricanes Lineup Going into 2025-26

NHL.com has released its projected lineup for the Carolina Hurricanes going into the 2025-26 season, based on the current roster. Are they on the money? Or does it still need some tweaks to fit the usual m.o. for Rod Brind’Amour? On the Wednesday Edition of Locked On Hurricanes, host Zach Martin starts the show by diving into NHL.com’s Hurricanes projected roster to see what is right, and what needs fixing to fit what a usual Brind’Amour lineup looks like—the first group, the forward core. Secondly, Zach dives into the defense and what the pairings might look like come opening night in October. What would make the most sense with the current group on the blueline? Finally, Zach shares his thoughts on the goaltending, as it’s probably the most established pairing/group going into the season. All of that, and more, on the latest episode of Locked On Hurricanes.

  1. for me, need some size on top line, id put svech on the top with aho and ehlers. give them a big body to bump with. If things continue as is, moving Jarvy to 2nd line could be a wing OR RBA has hinted at giving he or stank a try at center. Jarvy could slot over and move kk over or down if he wanted to try. so, 2nd line with Hall(agree hes top 6 for atleast this year) Jarvy, and either kk at center or hall/jarvy/stank. 3rd line there would be the jordans and maybe kk or blake to give them some speed on that line(much like jarvy last couple years). 4th line i dont foresee Jankowski being punted to the booth either considering how well he meshed in and Rod trusts him on the kill. d-pairs think nhl was pretty spot on. Miller and Slavin up top. Slavin is that good to help Miller learn system while also being able to make up for his lapses while he learns. Boom should be with Chatty. Chatty has become a Slavin lite in that when he was out with injury, our defense struggled with holes. He's the most underrated player on this team. Hopefully Svech and PK can help Boom learn the language to make everything smooth.
