  1. As a Sharks fan (don't be confused by the Ducks profile picture), Jumbo Joe is one of the best sharks of all time, but I think Marleau is better because of the Longevity of his career and him being really good before Thornton joined the team,

So to make a long story short, the top 10 Sharks are

    Marleau
    Thornton
    Pavelski
    Nabokov
    Couture
    Burns
    Nolan
    Vlasic
    Cheechoo
    Karlsson

  2. Pavelski is a better player than both Marleau and Thorton. Those 2 stockpiled points in basically meaningless regular season games, when teams/ players are going at 80%. When it mattered, when everyone played hard, neither of those 2 did squat.

  3. Beat player all time? Sharks? That’s Igor Larionov for sure. He didn’t stay long but he’s the best.

  4. My ranking of best Sharks of all time (as a Sharks fan)

    1a: Thornton
1b: Marleau (Jumbo and Patty are tied for #1)
3: Pavelski (still one of my faves)
    4: Nabokov (best Goalie)
    5: Burns (best DMan)
    6: Vlasic (best DEFENSIVE DMan)
    7: Nolan
    8: Couture (Clutch-ure)
9: Ricci (great team player and middle-six center)
10: Cheechoo (would've been one of the best scorers if he was healthier)

  5. Being sharks fan all my life and being from Texas. I had to become a Stars fan when Pavelski joined the Stars. Joe will always be the best clutch player in my opinion.

  6. Seeing this the day after going to Jumbo Joe's jersey retirement night. What an amazing player, but I love your pick of Pavs being 3rd overall and to me its no question he is the 3rd.

  7. Patty is my favorite player of all time and is a future Hall of Famer, but Jumbo is the greatest Sharks player ever(Celebrini could take that title eventually). Jumbo was a generational player and one of the best passers the league has ever seen

  8. Interesting to see so many people say Patty. Love the guy but he was no where near the leader that Jumbo or Pavs were and in terms of an overall player Jumbo is on a different level. Pavs I'd say was as good a player but obviously not the games played

  9. Pavelski leaving was a symptom, not a cause. Amazing player, amazing leader. But he wasn't going to prevent the Sharks decline by staying. The GM had an aging core and was just kicking the can down the road by trying to plug holes with expensive vets and retreads while having zero prospect pipeline.

  10. San Jose chose to sign Karllson to a long deal and let Pavelski go. That's what started the fall and kept getting worse. We chose a defender that can't play defense over our captain.
