  1. Now I know why your brother over at Leafs Digest is kicking your a#$!!! He doesn't use baby animations like you guys. You insult the players more than anything else, you demean them, like they re babies.

  2. Slaf is showing he can adopt to the NHL level of intensity….he has shown more confidence in his game ..! With his new contract…he will play a more mature game …and . .find ways to produce .. given his experience he has gathered in these last 2 yrs. !!!
    Go SLAPSHOTSKY !!

  3. Jesse: blue, blanc, rouge. Let me translate; Blue, White, Red. Flip your finger painting upside down. You look foolish. BIg Habs fan!!!

  4. I am OK with Slaf doing 50 points a season for the rest of his career, as long as he is the beast we need in the playoffs when we make it. I think that's where he's gonna shine for real.

  5. Love your enthusiasm and up-to-date coverage as always Josh & Jesse. Once again, I noticed you hadn't collaborated so suggest you do so to make the podcast even better.

Tonight Josh, you put up the comment that Bolduc said he hadn't played centre since he was aged 17 for Rimouski whereas Jesse mentioned Bolduc's two 50 goal seasons were when he played centre (later on with the Remparts)?

Which statement is correct? I assume yours Josh given the quote, therefore IMO the difference is significant when Bolduc played with the Remparts as his success was as a winger. Suggest cooling the jets given it has been a long time since Bolduc played centre and we have no idea how good he was with Rimouski at face-offs.

  6. Slaf, 51 pts last year 50 the year before, but notice his +/- has really improved which to me is a sign his game is more well rounded. This year he should be able to increase his offense while maintaining that effectiveness. Caulfield went through the same stages under Martin St Louis in becoming more responsible defensively first because you cant score when you are in your own zone. I know Joe V will not be our 2C, but I was happy to hear him in an interview in French saying he has been practicing his faceoffs all summer which is going to help on the PK. I can see Bolduc's style of play being more suited to centre than Demidov's style. Plus we did not get Demidov to limit his offensive game to become an effective centre. Great show guys! Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!

  7. Slafkovsky needs to play the 1st half of the season the same way he plays the 2nd half.

Although there were many goals last year where he was in front of the net causing trouble for the goalie and defender, but did not get an assist on the goal

  8. I hope they get all the forwards working on their faceoffs to help out the centres… Bolduc with either Demidov or Valeno… hmmm I like both of these options whether he plays centre or wing…

  9. I will keep Slaf there for now, but eventually would like to see Demidov once in a while. Slaf is maybe a true 2nd line player, and there's nothing wrong with that. He should have get 60 points last year, because he played with Dach for a few games and that did not work at all.

  10. Maybe review your Bolduc Centre in the Q info. Also some charts are too small for a phone screen.

  11. Not to burst your bubble on the Bolduc at C narrative, but Habs management and coaching staff told all forwards to work on faceoffs. Bolduc is just the guy we’re hearing from because he’s in Quebec.

  12. Because of the way the Habs play their d zone coverage (first man back is the “center”), it only matters who takes faceoffs. From Demidov, Bolduc, Newhook, Slaf or Veleno, one or two of these guys is going to be good enough to take some faceoffs once in a while and maybe even develop into a penalty killer and counted on late in games like Dvorak was.

  13. I think Slaf will break 65 points this year. Hopefully, they don't take him off the top line this year. I feel like that really put him into a HUGE slump last year when they tried to use him to get the 2nd line going.

  14. Bolduc did not play Center since like 7 years, let him play on the wing. I even see him playing with Caufield and Suzuki and tearing it up. Put Slaf,Dach and Demidov on the second, I think Demidov and Slaf are a really good fit.
