Trade Hamilton, Mercer and Palat for Quinn Hughes
If they trade Hamilton, I would think they would have to add a veteran defenseman. Has you mentioned that having both Nemec and Casey in the lineup for this season isn’t the best scenario.
He's been in the schedule release the past 3 seasons. Don't forget Logan Thompson was traded a day or two before his signing event. I don't believe the social media team has any information or input on trade talks.
Detroit could offer the Devils- Berggren, Wallinder, Holl & a first for Dougie to balance the salary.

I image that this video was shot before free agency began and, at the time, Fitz had intentions of keeping Hamilton and dumping Palats salary in order to sign Luke Hughes. However, with realization that Palat is untradable without retention (and thus more valuable on the team than off it) Hamilton has become the desirable trade target. I could be wrong but I think that is how everything has played out. I still think Fitz gets caught watching the paint dry and by the time he commits to actually trading Dougie, there won't be many teams left that actually need a top 4 scoring D with a large salary.
Yoy literally dont know how it works, everyone is fair game for the right price.
