Divers from three countries competed in the first ever, Lake Superior High Dive Challenge in Duluth, Minnesota. Organizers built the 65-foot-tall high dive platform on the sea wall of the Duluth Harbor.
This was a new addition to the Festival of Sail event happening at Harbor Plaza over the weekend.
On Friday, July 11, 10 divers participated in the men’s and women’s divisions.
Lisa Faulkner and Scott Lazeroff took home the women’s and men’s individual competition titles, respectively, to become the first Champions of the Lake. There were team competitions on Saturday.
“It’s really special, and then to feel like an important part of the festival is even more special, and everyone around is so supportive, and they love to watch us jump off of this, so to be a part of the debut of this event is a huge honor,” said Lisa Faulkner.
