Vele-no? Vele-yes!

In this video, I break down why the Montreal Canadiens’ acquisition of Joe Veleno might actually be a sneaky-good move—despite what some critics are saying. From his underrated two-way game to his untapped offensive upside and strong international pedigree, Veleno brings more value than meets the eye. I dive into how he fits into the Habs’ long-term vision and why this low-risk move could pay off in a big way.

  1. Not gonna lie this might be really good though. We have a guy who’s more of a vet so gally and him can help in experience with the young guns

  2. First. It's a good signing. I'd prefer if Kapanen and especially Beck play in Laval. Veleno and Blais are good lower lineup additions. I like it. Free player.

  3. 📝 Joe Veleno is a Montreal Canadien. What does this mean? 🤔 Well… I don't think it's as impactful as everyone is making it out to be. I think this is an emergency 🚨 / stop-gap 🧯 solution while we wait for our prospects to mature 🌱—and something that'll allow us to play out the clock ⏳ until Hage is ready for the big show 🎬.

💬 What do you think? Let me know!
    🌙 Hope you're all having a good night — I'm headed to bed 🛌

  4. Like the signing.

Competition is good, bring a home town kid he’ll want to bounce back. 25 big body, skilled, has snarl.

No issues here, we’ll see what training can brings.

Trading camp will be like that scene from the Dark Knight when Joker breaks the pool cue in half and lets the dudes fight for a spot

  5. Wait and see:
He's gonna start the season on a line with Gallagher Anderson and end the season on a line with demidov and slafkovsky…
    Lol……

  6. 4:10 dude….. No one believes in the Yzerplan, I did last year and it bit me in the ass (in a good way though cause Montreal got in instead of them)

  7. Literally 0 risk…If hes on the opening roster it's because he proved to be the best option in that spot…And it mean no risk of rushing a prospect.

  8. it covers Dvo leaving and honestly gives time for guys like beck and kapannen to grow into that position and how I see it is well you can trade him at the deadline

  9. Valeno is a depth signing, no problem with that. It gives them insurance. It also makes it so they can trade a player like Dach or Newhook without critically depleting their centre depth.

  10. I like the move. Depth in case the kids aren't quite ready or for injuries, which are inevitable . I like this off season so far and feel quite optimistic about the Hab's direction.

  11. We're below the cap so adding a Montreal guy, 6'1" who's an experienced center is a great move IMO! The guys in Laval need another year, Roy, Kapanen will probably be up as well at times. Veleno has an upside I think might just come alive, but in the meantime he's a depth 4th liner, good move to me. Thx

  12. I don't see the immediate rush on the 2C. Let's hold our horses. We needed one for bottom 6 having lost Dvo. Kent is a patient GM, as we should be as fans!

  13. Blais, Veleno, 1 year contracts. They believe in these players it's to them to take that opportunity. See what they can bring. Why not!? 🤷

  14. Twenty five year old former 1st round pick. He has beenunsuccesful in Detroit. Costs nothing probably provides depth in Laval.
This is a Kirby Dach Alex Newhook kind of signing. He's like a quarter of a point a game guy.

  15. We must follow different groups cause I never read one negative thing about this signing. Fans are weird, only thing that will make them happy is if Crosby comes over and we sign Mcdavid next season, lol

  16. This might be a disavow, or at least a backup solution, for Newhook being the 3rd line center, maybe Montreal finally understood that having two questionable centers in the middle 6 to start the season was a big risk.

    Caufield – Suzuki – Slafkovsky
    Laine – Dach – Demidov
    Newhook – Evans – Bolduc
    Gallagher – Veleno – Anderson

Leaving Blais as the new Pezzetta. Not a lot of room for the young folks in Laval, but at least now its youngish vets that are in the way not vets around 30 (except the white elephants contracts of Gally and Andy)..

  17. Congratulations on the YouTube achievements man!!! Very exciting stuff. Must feel a little strange having them contact you like that! Keep up the good work. don't overthink what has made you successful, we like what YOU make 😊

  18. Stop with the passive aggressive follow/subscribe requests. It’s insulting to your audience and it’s annoying AF. Quit acting like you don’t know what it does or what it’s for or “whatever”. Let your work do the talking for your page which for the most part is good. You’re taking away from yourself with the stupid schtick.

  19. Not a big deal true, let's see what he can do .. Laval no it's a one way contract if he gets sent down he will get claimed contract is cheap

  20. Veleno has that Corey Perry thing, could be a huge win for the bottom 6. If not he's going to be excellent in Laval.

Kent still needs to find 4.5 Million somewhere. More things might happen yet. Perhaps Carey's contract gets moved.

  21. Missed opportunity: Keep calm and Carry on – as in Carry Price… a graphic of Carry Price should come up

  22. Also, I see Veleno as a 'Temu' Jake Evens, but a bit flashier. He was drafted and played for the SJ Sea Dogs for a few seasons as their Cpt. A little slower to develop from his exceptional draft status first days in the Q but given the right mix of fertilizer and water, I could see him grow to a middle 6 center… right where he would need to be in the Habs Org

  23. 4:00 you made 3 references in here😂😂😂 Christian (Jesus) Fisher (literally) and rip his nhl career 😂😂😂
