"Still have the spine of a very good team." LOL. FFS, they lost a 40-year-old winger who was playing on their third and fourth line (Perry), a 3L/4L checker (Brown), an elf (Skinner), and a guy who always has the play end on his stick (Arvidsson). They've been replaced by Mangiapane and Frederic and the summer's barely started. I'd say the team's got more than a spine left.
Oilers seem to have the wrong attitude. They are very predictable (and pay for that). They should have been able to pick out a (slimy, tough and smarter) 4th line from the players available (trade & FA). They need to pick fits in style & attitude.
Bottom 6 is no more – they need 4 lines Vegas started it – panthers continue – wake up pundits & especially Bowman ( which I don’t think he understands – maybe he shud ask his dad)
Oil gun shy on goalies after Campbell, so get a new goalie coach if no cap
Shud have traded Bouchard & nurse (but too expensive ) so get stay at home like Hudey was with Coffey or Ceci with nurse – Bouchard only has selective skating during D play & his shot but has been blocked with D knowing his shot can’t get thru

Be patient you have no idea who you have until you see the guys that they sign up from I believe it was Sweden, their top goal, scorer, and their hockey team they might actually be exactly what they needed. So for now I would not do anything else to get these guys a true shot and including the rookies, give them a true look and don’t put them on the fourth line and expect the goal score to score. Savoy needs to be on the top two lines.

I think the number one thing they should do right now is trade for the kid from Tampa. Get it done. Quit playing hardball cause I believe that kid is going to be a very good player. If all they need is another draft pick or prospect just get it done. The problem is sometimes they wait and wait and wait and bang. They’re gone to somebody else if you want somebody go out and get it get it done figure out the cap later on lots of teams do that.
