  1. Based on the kind of "run it back" look of the roster, I'd say it seems clear the organization believes the issue was the coaching, not the talent.
Also… If you're GG, you gotta feel like you're on a short leash … Literally, the ACs to your left and right were the other guys they interviewed. In other words… 2 interims ready to go.

  2. How spoiled were we to have the team we did last year? Y'all, were kinda capped by the cap. Of course the team isnt going to look as good depth wise, but our core is still in tact. We're a playoff team through and through. And Guluvsan is going to be a great coach. We should be happy to have what we do, I truly believe Pete was the problem and now we're ready to take it all the way! Hop off the wagon if you scoffed at my comment, we dont need you on our way to Lord Stanley.
    DALLAS ⭐ STARS ⭐

  3. Not really happy with new coach signing and agree with you Joey, on guys who wanted Pete gone. Very few coaches out there who would have better resumes and cups under their belts. Faksa signing, not great. Going backwards. Not excited for this upcoming year. Still, hopefully ship out Robo and Dumba and change look of D and team a bit. Get tougher to play against. Get something for Robo while he still has value and some fans and other GMs fooled with his regular season numbers.

  4. It's okay to throw cold water on the Faksa signing… it doesn't make us better at all. An overpay at that. Should be a league minimum.

  5. No one has mentioned, how the defensive strategy might change now that debour is gone . We have no idea what they will look like . What if they go to a more simple style , that makes up for talent on the back end ?

  6. With the whole Dumba and Lybushkin thing. If they end up not being able to move them. At what point do you consider buying out their contract?. Because they are both just not good. I wish we could have kept Granlund but if he’d rather get paid more to go to a rebuild team than stay with a team that can at least consistently make birth in the playoffs then I say let me go. maybe we can see him come back down the road.

  7. We were worse following 23/24 because Pavelski retired. Yes, we overpaid for defense plug ins too. Now we are worse because we couldn't hold onto Granlund, and I think the Dadonov departure is a lot of depth scoring that just walked. Marchment departure costs us some depth scoring and size. But we still have Rantanen as a huge addition. Stars free agency happened at the deadline. We're not as good on paper, and the blueline is still a glaring issue. But we had a lot of injuries back there last year. Hopefully just better luck on injuries will be a source of improvement

  8. On the 4th Line: Blackwell, Steel, Faksa, Benn, Back & Bourque, that is 6 players for your 4th line… Who's going to play the 3rd line then? Johnston is NOT a 3rd line forward, what are you suggesting there with Benn on the 2nd line, did you have too much coffee? Too many 4th liners, they should go after Nick Robertson which can play on a 3rd or 2nd line and be really effective, I would trade Bourque or Back for him anytime! Time to Move Nill !!!

  9. hahaha, okay, so you are going back four years and thinking that will be the answer…geezus, should have dumped Benn, Sequin, Dumba, Lybushkin and went after much deeper defensive bench, and trade Robertson for cap space and depth players…I give the Stars a round 1 or 2 playoff picture with these moves. Just laughing at you all for bringing Benn back with 3M in incentives. Just laughable. Faksa is not the same player as he was 3 years ago, haha…If you all have depth and a great pipeline of players, riddle me this – Why are you hanging on to the geezers? Robertson is a great player to use to get the cap space and depth on defense you need. Oh, and I would send Bitchell down, if you see him, remind him, he isn't anywhere close to Derian Hatcher.

  10. Joey, c'mon, you get rid of Dumba and players like this by packaging them or be willing to keep 50% of the cap hit, but at least you open the spot and get rid of 50% of the cap hit.

  11. Neil Graham is the future head coach for the Stars, Gulutzan is just a stand in to get Graham up to speed and 1-2 years under his belt.
