There really is no reason for optimism aside from being wishful. Miller was the heartbeat of this team and EP40 is the bruised ego and we only kept one. Anyone expecting anything from Kane is delusional — a year older and coming to a much worse team. Demko playing healthy for 40 games would be lucky. Suter is gone. As good as Hughes is, he can't do it all. As bad as last year was, this year is even more regression. Even if we sucked, this ownership will throw every draft pick we got in the hopes they'll have a chance at a wildcard spot.

We literally had every single good player on our team get injured for a good chunk of the year and yet Canucks fans can sit there and say we’re not a good team we suck. No we’re good absolutely everywhere except the centre that is the only thing that we need to improve.
