rumor uh rumor of Trent Frederick resigning too which I thought was interesting this weekend yeah and you know it was hinted at I think it was Bob who maybe hinted at the idea of them going like longer term with him he’s only 27 right i know and I I think I was playing into it is they a younger body is good if you’re going to go like 6 years with them I think it needs to be like 2.75 million 3 million at the most if you’re going if the cap’s going up I would do a great deal i could do 6 by3 he scored 17 goals or something like that 17 18 back to back season and you’re basically looking at him being like “Hey we’re banking on you being healthy to like earn this and become a value.” And if you’re Frederick you’re going “Okay I just had an injury that really slowed me down someone’s offering me $18 million guaranteed life-changing money i’m going to take it.” And the thing is too in a few years like 3 million bucks is going to be nothing on the cap yeah we got to look at it through that lens like even if it was 3.25 25 it might you might not love it next year but the year after that you don’t care really it’s only like a it’s hypothetically a $2 million deal now and like you’re willing to do that to guys and I I do think having a younger guy who people were saying is that he’s not really doing a lot and I agree i think he’s you want more production from him but he’s coming to a team been injured immediately and had no time to have to get the role on special teams anywhere like I do think he’s a player you would want to you’re starting to notice him more he had a really good chance last game too he did yeah and and in game one he always finds himself in a high danger opportunity hey I was And I sorry to I would also say for people who are like you can’t resign him just go look at the market there’s not a lot of guys out there anyway the only counterargument I would have and we kind of did this whole thing the other day where you already have 11 forwards under contract and that’s with Seavoy on your roster it’s 11 and Max Jones and the miners perry Brown Kappa and Frederick you can’t bring them all back cuz you can’t have 15 forwards without a bunch of guys going on waiverss like it’s a mess so if you bring back bring back Frederick that’s your 12th you have room for I think a 13th and a 14th but that’s probably Kenan and Brown like I do think they I think they’ll trade a guy like Arvidson and and they’ll move some pieces out but again you can’t bring back all of these guys someone’s gonna have to go tyler said in the chat as well like he becomes a Henrik replacement when Henrik’s done yeah if you really believe in his center ability that that’s a good point um okay let’s get someone in the chat said “Not Frederick couldn’t produce in Boston either he had 17 goals playing a third line role.” self eh
