Bread’s greatest value is in the regular season but is not made for the playoff grind. He’s cashed in already with his last contract. If he wants to stay in NY and to win here he may have to sign a team friendly contract. If he did try to recruit Gavrikov as reported, he probably already knows this. Mid to late 30s at 10 million or north of it is crazy talk.
Forth line would be better without " I take stupid penalties " Rempe
Bread’s contract is not the problem. Soucy, Mika, Laf, contracts need to be addressed…. Take that $ and put it in the D
Panarin needs horses around him to be good in the playoffs. Not a leader by example.
Panarin isnt going anywhere! He wants to be here! He is the best scorer we had in years! Hey Drury, how about building a damn good team around him! 😮 U think JT Miller is going to score 40-50 goals a year! NOT!! Give Panarin 4 years @ 9-10 AAV. That’s a bargain considering the cap is going up !! How about dumping Drury!! Maybe Igor will start earning his 11.5 million. AAV! He’s not Lundquist, that’s for sure!! Before knocking Panarin, try looking at who’s been consistent on this team the last 5 years!! 😮 Answer: Nobody!!!
Sheeeeeesh 😬 😳 😱 Those lineups are laughable.
It’s definitely the formula for getting the 2026 first round lottery pick.
Since he's the best O player in NY since Jagr they should try to keep him but anything over 8M is questionable, and if they do keep him they have to solve his playoff dips. I don't believe he's a choker but he's a soft smaller player so he needs linemates particularly down the middle who can create more ice for him to do his thing…
perhaps that's 1 reason they got Miller….I wouldn't call him "fast" or "big"but he's a dynamic skater who turns, accelerates as good as anyone (well not McGod lol..ALMOST anyone) and he does throw his weight around so I guess we'll see…and Darius speaks the truth, this team sucks at developing young talent, Cuylle is the exception, not the rule.
He's gone hes never will take 7 or 8 million a yr!!!
I agree with the sentiment here… I believe he should and will stay in NY. However, they can't pay him more than $10 million max, ideally $9 million for 4 years in my opinion. He shouldn't make less than Zibanejad, but anything north of $10 million is a mistake. He's been a top 5 point producer in the league for the last 5 years. If he goes, how do you replace that? I think he takes a team friendly deal to stick around.
Also, I have faith in Sully to turn this team around bc I think he can get some of these younger players to improve at the NHL level. Despite the organization failing to develop their young talent, I'm still hopeful that at least one or 2 of those guys make this team in the next 2-3 years as Mainstays in their respective positions. Perreault will be one of them, and he needs top 6 playing time to reach his potential. Burying him in the 3rd/4th line will just repeat what's happened with our last 5-6 first round forwards.
Zibanejad is the #1 player who should be on the hot seat this season. At $8.5 million/year, he needs to be productive offensively and return to form with his defensive skill set we regularly witnessed in years past. The way he accomplishes both of those goals is to play the center position exclusively, in my opinion. Putting him on the wing is a mistake bc he gets lost in coverage. I love Z, he's been one of my fave players to join this team in the last 10 years, but I see a player who is not stepping up as a leader and instead seems to sulk and make excuses for poor play/not being effective. He couldn't hit the net for half the season last year, low effort on the back check, and the power play was a disaster. If he can turn that around, I expect a 30+ goal season out of this guy and a return to the playoffs for this team. The Metro division is arguably the toughest in the league, therefore I see the Rangers as a 6-8 seed this year. LGR! I have faith in this group to turn it around 👏🏼
Best duo
Panarin worth every dollar and then some. Drury , you can’t be that stupid
3 yrs, 9m if he wants to stay and make the team better. But first they need to move out zbans , soucy contracts to sign scoring help with grit tontake some pressure off him.
