Best NHL ROOKIE Plays from 2024-25 🤩 #NHLYoungStarsWeek

Eric Paula holds 45 seconds left on the power
play. Paula from a sharp angle. Casey has all kinds of space. Tow Dragon scores. Wow. Jamus
Casey’s first career goal is a masterpiece. Good job by Holla and Mason. Play a little catch. Holla
finds Casey. Watch this. Look at that little pull back. Get him. Finds himself a little oddman rush.
the other way. Keroot comes right back thrown to the front. A chance and a goal and it’s Josh Stone
and he ties it right back up. How about that? Alexander Kerfoot right here. He knows he
has the option. Needs to protect the puck and throws it across and the finish from Josh Don. this young team and Josh Don who
not a shoe in to make this team and blocked in the low slot.
Shovelled along for William Heckan. Here is Celibbriny pulling up
spinning shoveling across. They score off an in front. Celebrating and Ekkan combined
and the Sharks have the lead. [Music] You know, Mike, he just spins around and he’s
looking for Excellent. who’s driving to the net and I think it goes off the St.
Louis Blues defenseman in front. And watch this little spin here. He has his head up
the whole way. He knows Tipole is there. He knows Ekan’s there. And there’s no question
about it. It goes off Matthew Kessle’s leg. Looked like the Islanders early on might run
away and hide, but the Panthers have had the push. Here’s Savage Scavic, who came close last
time. All the way in the wrapound. There it is. Macky’s got the first of his NHL career and he’s
tied the game at three. He takes the feed and watch the blazing speed and he just goes wide and
then he sees that Verarmmoff is committed on that far post. Okay, I’m going to try the wrap around
and it just works. Tucks it in before Barmov can come back with that right pad against the post.
Danielson left it. Greenway Laferty over skated. Here comes a chance for the Islanders up ice.
Nelson and Siplov cuts back, gets to the slot. Siplov scores. Oh, a fantastic goal from Max
Siplov. And the Islanders take a 2-1 lead. We’ll watch see if he goes five hole. But this right
here, you got guys stacked. I would say 95% of the time you’re going to see a drop pass. I don’t
care which players it is cuz you think you have a great opportunity. Watch a stick of Clifton. You
turned it like that. Green light for him. Five hole. Five hole. What a beauty. Yeah. Just waited
for him to open up and try to give the Flyers the lead. Round two. In from the right wing and he
scores. Slowed down and then picked up the pace. Great move. Backhand, forehand, gets it around
that right leg and then the celebration to the crowd. Sanheim gets those legs moving. Cuts out
in. Tried to drive it back. It went off a stick connect. He does get to it tok from the angle.
He scores. Matt Feichkov from the angle. Banks it in. And the Flyers win the hockey game 54.
Mechov Magic NOT try plays, try shots from sharp angles that haven’t gone, but he does not quit. He
tries this one and it succeeds. All Ottawa in this overtime. Mechov with the sharp angle play and
the flyers somehow Patrick Kane on for Detroit with the cap. Alex de Brink. Branley to the line
to give for Cabbrini. Mlin Cbrini in. He scores. Mlin Celabbrini. His first NHL gamewinning goal.
Mlin Cel right here. They thought maybe this could be offside, but he has control of the puck even
though his feet are over the line. So he stays on side. This little move. Boom. Boom. Heel toe and
in between seven hole back celebrating wins it for the San Jose Sharks. Check this out. Nobody
happier than his budd Will Smith on that one. Knocked off the puck by Alex Tuck. He might have
a break here. He’s got power with him. Alex Tuck. Power. Oh, they can’t beat Gibson. Puck is still
loose. Shot. Scores late on the play. Yuri Dulik with the overtime winner. And Buffalo come back
from a two nothing deficit to win it 3-2 with 59.4 seconds left in the OT on Zelwiger and away he
goes. This is a two on Gibson with an outstanding stop but then it’s Koulik who jumps on the rebound
and boy what a finish by him. He elevates it up and under the bar and the Sabres get that extra
point in overtime. Great stop by Gibson. and he gets a little bit unlucky and give it back to him.
Sanheim looks to connect. Connecti in the scorch for the overtime winner. 32 your final magic in
overtime continues. That play right there. TK nice little baby sauce over to Mishkov. Wide open
net. Morazzic almost grabbed that with his glove, but Rocky Thompson did a good job of setting
that one up during that Chicago Blackhawks timeout. And man, he puts that thing almost
through the back of the net there like goals tonight from Nico Sturman the fourth first
and Fabian Zetterland in the second. Here’s Celrini and he scores. [Music] Ability to
fake goalenders and defenders out. But he’s not even looking at the net until then till just
before he shoots it. He’s looking across. There’s the look of Gray. Look away. Look away. Boom.
And it’s off his stick in a hurry. And again, it’s one of those shots that’s waits for it.
Played ahead for Jake Evans. Connects with Heinaman. Hineman driving the net. Goes to the
goal. He scores. What a play. And what a goal by Emil Heinman. Similar to what you saw happen
to Strubal earlier on from Chinoikov. Once he gets the step and he drops that right shoulder
in, there’s no way that Severson’s going to be able to stop him. And as he’s cutting in,
Mleakkins bites on it. Barov and Curry on the face off comes to the boards. Reinhardt
trying to get free. Barkov in front and they score at the buzzer. It’s good. Incredible
play by the Panthers. They beat the buzzer. What a play there from Reinhardt to keep
the play alive. And an even better pass from Barkov to Kachchuck who then goes to the
back door. [Applause] And that’s a killer. I think Drury got confused with Robert Thomas with some
speed to the Philadelphia line. Thomas swept away by connecting. Throws it ahead and Mechov has
a game on his stick. Mechov in on he scores. Matt Bay Magic in overtime yet again. He kind of
likes the three on three and the Flyers win the game three to two. Peach Coff again in extra
time. Oh, he didn’t even know that he that it went in. I don’t think he did. Look at Pareo.
I mean, he is breathing down his neck and able to finish into the boards hard. Mechov with the
dramatic finish once again. This kid is something else and connecting at the other end. Bush, it
looked like Thomas was about to Orvat around the outside. Orvat Ciplov steps, shoots it, hit PO.
He got it back and scores. Oh, finally a bounce that benefits the Islanders. Max Cyclico goals in
back-to- back games in the Yeah, that that was a great little play to break it out and a little
poise from Horvat as well. But how about this? Watch the stick to skate right there in traffic.
You got guys on the left, guys on the right, but for Cyclop to be able to understand that behind
it was it was a kick to himself behind the skate as well. Stanco in front. Marcoso arriving.
Wilsby a great move. Willsby shot scores. Oh, what a play he made. Adam Wilsby, his first
goal in the NHL. That was almost a similar shot on the goal. He got called back for what we thought
was his first. Look at the move at the blue line as he completely undresses his player, lines up
a shot and delivers perfection right under the bar passen trying to work it in front. Sabres
with a takeaway chance here on the counter rush with good numbers. Yuri Koulie scores. What a
goal. Oh, Yuri Cool. He snuck that one in when there wasn’t a lot of room. Goes zipping past and
you’ll see he’s kind of flatfooted here a little bit. Tries to hit him, misses him. And Koulie
here at one point looked like he might make the pass. And I think that’s what Jordan Bennington
was doing here. He’s loading up that leg to get across for a save. But you can see he leaves that
five hole exposed a little bit and cooling fight. Get the funny feeling. It’s going to be
one of those games, Jim. Maybe the Yeah, first goal might be the last goal. Now ahead, here
come the K shot. Score. Andre Lee first NHL goal. One- nothing LA. Gary the finish here. Watch this
loft play. Watch Lee use his body. He’ll get Lean right there and then back against the float.
Perfect. Bar down. Wow. A lot of first goals are not as pretty as this. And you talk about
skill, execution, puck protection on a play really not designed to great offense. And the
Kings have a one- nothing lead. Now Kirby Dock back and forth with Gallagher up top. Mat
with a drive that goes high. Bats it back in front and they score. Hineman bats it out
of the air in past Solder Bloom and Montreal are back to within a goal. Stick and he puts
it into the net as the Hawks looking at the replay to see if they’re going to call
anything and oh there’s no way that is not a high stick. That is a good goal and it
should be three to two. I don’t know how much baseball Emil Heidman would have played
back in Sweden. Ducks lead in Carolina. Little redirect across the line. Goce goes wide.
He scores. Oh, what a shot by Cutter. Goce high short side and the Ducks get the elusive second
goal. Back bar, one toucher in the neutral zone. Goce is just happy to be out of Philadelphia
after last night. Well outside the dots. It’s Coachov thinking he’s got to be thinking
in his mind about a potential pass. You know, the old adage goes, and I’ve shared it with you
before, comb reaches forward at center. Goce, he’s been going well tonight. Picks it up with
speed into the Carolina zone. Goes wide, fires, he scores. Cutter Goce wins it in overtime. What
a shot. His second goal of the game. The Ducks three, Carolina 2. And come back to win it in
overtime. Compliments of the man who had a target last night in Philadelphia. He’s the number
one star tonight in Carolina. Anaheim three, the Hurricanes two. Our coverage continues
with postgame when we come back. Rempy gets it to Edstrom and the Rangers put it in the
offensive zone. Edstrom to Rey. He scores. What a rush by the two big men. And
Matt Rempy puts it home. Patience, patience. Here he comes. Has it now the quick
movement and away they go off the boards. Rempy to the net. Enstrom to Rey. Peter Lavolet’s
group. Little chip and chase. A pop play into the middle. Matt and Paulo was late on the
play as Rey just drives the middle of the night, middle of the net. Edstrom chips it
to himself and Reby does the rest. It’s on his stick. Raymond locked the rebound
away. Stayed with it to bet it ahead. Here’s Casper with Lockin. Casper the goal. Save
everyone. He scores. Marco Casper [Music] or what? Takes off, sees the loose puck. He’s got Larkin
as a decoy. Settles the puck down. Good save by the goalender, but he got a nice juicy rebound
and stumps it into the open net. Wow, that’s good speed. Made all that happen right in front of me
at center ice. To keep it in was Bean, but could not as he bounced to him. Now to Clapka back in.
Oh, what a beautiful Adam Clapka. The big man with some big moves. Now he’s going to try and dump it
in and hits somebody goes right to Pelo. He kicks it out to Clapco. Now look at that reach. 6’8.
And so when he goes from forehand all the way to backand that must move about 18 ft it seems. And
there’s a very difficult slate for John Gibson. Smith back from Eklan. Now across for Celbrini but
Arma got a piece of that. Walman keeps it alive. Ekan on the wing. Celbrini scores. scores Mlin
roof set and it’s one- nothing Sharks. That is some dandy puck movement by the San Jose Sharks.
And you got to credit Will Smith. He was running things from the side off the flank and then
he’s already before that puck even got to him, he knew it was going to Eklan. And what a pass
by Tyler Tofoley. Pass to the slot from Robinson. Didn’t find a home. And then this one goes out
of the reach and speeds in out in front. Score. Yakon treaded the neutral zone. It’s a funny
bounce coming off the wall. And how about the wheels of Husadino to beat it and then know that
he’s got some support in front. So, you know, to me it’s it’s not necessarily a a pretty play.
They’re just throwing it out in the neutral zone. They take a funny bounce off the wall and then
Houston goes to work. sent one in front of the net. Brought back out to center. Tracking back
nicely came Casper. Barking out along with Raymond who’s got it. Raymond stays with it. Spinning like
a top in front. Scores. Casper. [Music] Back check of Casper right there. Forced the turnover right
onto the stick of Larkin. And then they mishandled it right there. Lens’s pressure. And Raymond
saw a landmine and got out of the way. And this goes off a skate. No kicking motion. They’ll talk
about it. They’ll look at it, but they won’t call it a bad goal. I don’t think 10 this season had
only had one point his previous 13 games entering today. Now Nazar dragging through. They score.
An immediate answer. What a response for Chicago. It’s right off of the face off. You see Vertusi
goes to the wall and then that’s what a tip play by Brusi and Nazar. The little tow drag around
Doby [Music] over to Mcan or Kurishad I should say who ends up burying this. But what a play
by Nazar. Good little tow drag. Jay waits for an open man. That’s Carlson now less than a minute
to go. Hard around and in. Korn got a stick on it. Couldn’t get it to the net. A backhander
score. Oh my. A hoisted backhander from the high slot off the crossbar and in and the Ducks
have tied the game. What a shot by cutter goce. Going to the net or not? It did not. Right over
the shoulder. It had eyes. A backhander by Goce and no check for an offside. It was close. Graph
back to the puck. He’s got cost at center. Clean gives it back to Colin. Graph. What a move by
Graph. Then the centering feet. They score. Nico Sturm. What a play. What a goal. The entry
into the zone is great. But that wow. Talk about the shimmy shake and just missing right there is
clean. But Nico Sturm goes to the net as well. What do we say? Hard at their net. And that’s
being hard at the net. Going to the net. Making sure you get traffic there. one for four in his
career this year of course in shootouts with a little more speed cut to the middle and he scores.
Oh my Beach Silky. Oh, this is good stuff. Get in the middle of the ice and then bring it back.
Look at how far he brings his puck from his forehand to his backand. It’s going to move about
Nazar with a chance to put the Hawks up by two. in on Vamela scores. A beauty on the back hand.
Hawks up 3-1 [Music] while going to the right through the goalie’s legs. It hasn’t worked at
the NHL level. I love the way he changed this up. This is a beautiful move. And look at the
edge work of his blades to cut back to the left like that. I mean, he totally sells it right
there. and a little shake and bake with the shoulders against the Sharks who had 17 of the
game’s first 18 shots on goal. Dolce makes one more pass. Kangelo scores and the streak continues
for Sam. Just a good passing play. Kangelo starts it with a nifty little chip into the middle and
boy he gets the puck right back from Goce and he just outweights Hogberg who goes down. He goes
around him and elevates and just able to keep it on the blue line. Stay on side. Conquer cycles for
Terasenko. And Johansson the move and he scores. Just his second NHL goal and it’s a beauty
for Alvin Johansson. Team Gold Knights get caught. Too many guys high. Little play to
the inside. It’s a twoon one and Samson off out the challenge. Great patience by Johansson
as he just wastes it. brings it back down and puts it in as the Red Wings grab the one-
nothing goal. One nothing. And he’s had a he’s had such a tough year. You know, Josh
Anderson’s been dealing with stuff as well all season long. Here’s Hudson in shoot.
Score lead Hudson a rocket. Two two tie. [Applause] [Music] He just never stops
attacking. Every time he can. This time he’s on his strong side and he just walks
it down the wall. Amatio hands him off to Sanderson. While that handoff is taking place,
he’s like, “You know what? I see a lane. I see a screen post and in over the shoulder of Mark.”
Jonathan Leeraki will have his first shootout attempt of his career. Leer Maki can win it
for Vancouver. Here he swoops in and scores. Jonathan Leeraki first career shootout attempt. He
wins it for Vancouver. Have played extremely well including Jacob Marstrom. But it’s an unbelievable
goal. An unbelievable shot by Leer Maki. And here’s the one. When he pulls it back to the
forehand, Marstrom’s got to respect it. That’s why he drops down and Leer Maki puts it. The shootout
started a little prematurely and William Knander has scored. Here’s the first Shark shooter.
It’s Will Smith in on Joseph Wall and he scores. [Music] The [ __ ] just got
up and everybody went whoa. And here’s Cabbrini against Toronto’s Joseph Wong and he scores. Celebrini buries it. Patience
makes the move. Fakes that shot. Holds on to it just that little split second longer
and goes upstairs. And now Mitch Mner, one of the best in the business. Good work
by Jagor Zamulu there. Now Meich the other way to connect. Back to Mechov up the left wing.
Makes the cut to the middle and then lays it off for Connecti in front. They score. Hailing with a
slam D. A play set up by the artist free of Matt Bay Mechov. But the play doesn’t happen if Mechov
doesn’t make this move right there. If he doesn’t beat Oly on that outside, gets him middle of the
ice. just plays dead in the water. But Mechov makes a heck of a play to connect and then to go
and Jarvis has that quick release. Kings went in clean. Blake on the back hand and he scores.
[Applause] Oh, he put his hand in the cookie jar and came away with one. What a sick move.
You win another power play face off. Jarvis did and Blake was on his toes. He’s a forward at the
weak side point. He was on his toes to even get enough separation on leading Celibbrini. Smith
to celebr [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Ferraro up on the play and he makes a beautiful
backhand pass over to Tofoi. Second assist for Ferraro. And Douloy isn’t going to miss from
there. Right-handed shot. He’s ready for this one. Lost his gloves, lost his helmet, lost
his stick. His car keys and wallet, I think, are there, too, but he skated away and left them.
Here comes Hudson. Lane Hudson scores. Hudson, what a shot. Oh, baby. How about that one for Lane
Hudson as he creeps closer to Chris Chelios. an inside out move twice and as he gets down towards
the goal line, I mean, how tight is he to the goal line? When he beats Arison with this puck,
this is going far side, top shelf. Wow, what a beauty. We’ve gotten to know him as such a great
passer. And this one is going to go short side. Ducks regroup. It’s Gochce coming out of his
own zone with speed wide on the left side. Cuts to the front of the net. scores on the back
hand. He roofs it for his second of the night. What a finish this turns on the afterburners.
Nice little pass to cutter go in with speed, but he walks right around Buchard and you
get a sense of just what a powerful skater he is. Those hands though, look
at that. Look where this ends up to this side for Cabbrini. Smith. Mlin scores.
Mlin Cabbrini. He has two and the Sharks have the lead again. Good job by Liiler. Get the
puck down low. Mlin keeps it in. He reads. He sees the Will supports behind the net. Will draws
favor to him. and Mlin. That’s just two guys just know how to play, right? One pass, quick off
the boards, a give and go. Beautifully done of Edmonson able to knock it away. Casper left wing
side. Marco Casper picking his feet. Where did they go? He’s good. He’s good. Marco Casper.
Bingo. Keeps the Red Wings alive. They win it four to three. Oh my god. He snaps it home
to end this baby with a minute and 38 left. They were out of gas and he was able to walk
right to the front. I thought he might go to the back hand, but he found a room over the
catching glove of Vaselki and made no mistake. 18 goals on the year for number 92. He pulled it
to of Los Angeles and Edmonton in the first round. Edmonton the last three years has eliminated
the Kings. Spin move. Score. What a play, Zack Laroo the net. But what a spin play by
Zach Laroo. He creates this passing lane and Marcaso hard to the back post and just drives it
into the empty cage. Aiden Hill down and out on this pass. He’s sold out. Parried to center by Yel
Armia. You could see the skill there through the legs for Demov. Deov has it. Demonov circles in
front. scores [Applause] [Music] all Canadians. And look at the lateral mobility here to Demov.
A little shake and bake and that play to New Hook. He processes the offensive zone. That move
right there, the width, that stance. Well, you know who’s out with the digits on his back of 93.
Goes after it now. He’s in. He scores. Oh my god. And his first National Hockey League
goal. Well, the high anticipation of this player playing for the Montreal
Canadians has come to life. And boy, what a dream scenario. All eyes are on him
every second here since he walked into the building. And right there leaves it for Cfield.
Coughfield onto the wing for Slipovsky. Gets by Lars Eller. Dropped it. Pass for Hudson.
Over to Demid Roy. Great play. Center scores. Slapsky ties it. Youngsters. But this move at
the blue line by Slavoski very close to the one Dylan Stro did. The youngster pulls it off.
Deod. The patience. The patience not to take the shot or force the play. Right here. He dangles
right. He comes around and lays it right out for Slavski in the Eastern Conference Final
attempting to save off elimination tonight. Here’s Stan Kovven. Stan Coven with a shot.
Score. The Hurricanes take their first lead of the series as Stan Kovven beats Babski
on the tape. Watch this play right here. He gets it into Stan Coven and then he goes
short side roof on Sergey Babroski. Quick up, right-handed shot on the left side of the
ice, and Carolina’s got a one- nothing

  1. NHL – you'd think that in the first 8 minutes, after featuring several players multiple times, you MIGHT have included the guy who was actually rookie of the year just once?

  2. Man, I don’t know which intern did this job, but boy oh boy, you need to step up a bit. Like, where is Wolf? Hutson best plays are far from being his shot, it’s the dangle at the blue line? where is Wolf? Maybe throw some hits in there from I don’t know: Bolduc? Like where was Wolf?

  3. Rookies plays ❌️
    Rookies goals✅️
Hutson's plays aren't goals, it's his puck handling, vision and passing. Admin needs to get fired

  4. What a complete disrespect to Will Smith, Dustin Wolf and Lane Hutson. Will Smith didn't even have 1 goal shown, outside of a shootout that was part of a Celebrini highlight. Crazy. Also, you couldn't show 1 highlight of Wolf? He was incredible last season and deserves to be on this list. And how the hell does the calder winner have like 2 highlights on here, I mean come on 😂!

  5. Celebrini and Michkov are such studs, also very happy to see some Red Wings make this list. Kasper's going to be such a surprise high end presence, I think, and that Albert Johansson tuck move is filthy.

  6. On any given day, I would take Mitchkov because he is unique and makes a difference. Demidov is on par with him in terms of skill.

  7. Title says "Best Plays" but these are mostly goals, some of which were pretty underwhelming. The actual Calder winner barely appears, when some of his best defensive moments could've been highlighted, or maybe even some of his assists, that were where most of his points came from. Smith barely makes the edit, and he had some nice goals and assists, and it really is a shame that this goes on for almost half an hour but it doesn't feature at least one of Wolf's saves.

  8. Matvei Michkovs highlights: Empty netters, Shootouts, individual breaks because bro doesn't know anything else lmao.
