  1. Can anyone in the comments please explain to me shortly what arbitration is in the context of NHL means? Just want to know what that means for Dostal

  2. I remember Troy Terry went for arbitration a few years ago but then it was resolved the morning before the arbitration hearing. I’m hoping that happens with Dostal. Lock him down long term and pay him a starting goalie’s pay. He took a super cheap bridge deal on his last contract. It’s time to pay up.

  3. Shannon, I am concerned that if Tom Fitzgerald cannot get rid of the Ondřej Palát contract this next season will be tough for the Devils to say the least. It is ridiculous that Palat is still on the Devils team.

  4. Shannon you said Cam York and Florida last i heard his rights where still with the Flyers . Puck Pedia says Cam York signed a 3 year deal 21 ,22,23 then a 2 year deal 24,25 . Tyson Foerster is said to start the season on the injury list and Ristolainen may also start on the the injury list to i think that is why they signed some of the players to one year deals .

  5. Arent the Ducks close to the salary floor? Why would the be arguing with Dostal. They're not hurting for cao space

  6. Hey Shannon, hello. Question(s) on arbitration rules:
If a team elects to take the player to arbitration but then they and the player come to agreement before the hearing, do they retain that right for the future with that player?
Also, is it a player can only be taken to arbitration once in their career by a team, or does any team that player may play for get 1 arbitration hearing request each with that player? Thank you. Love your channel!

  7. Arbitration is dangerous. The players want a fair deal but it will only be a one or two year deal. In the meantime, they want to play for a better contract (longterm). But the balance is that the player doesn't want to get injured. so they will play half-hearted (even though no one wants to admit this). Its a delicate balance.

  8. I hope Gabe Vilardi gets paid. I was really unhappy when LA traded him to WPG in the Dubois fiasco. I know he gets hurt a lot, but when he's healthy he's really good, and seems like such a great guy too. Thanks for the video.

  9. Kakko electing arbitration feels a bit like he's shooting himself in the foot. He struggled to reach his potential in Rangers and finally got traded to a team where he could get more ice time and now he's basically saying he don't like what they're doing for him.

  10. Rossi not filing for arbitration and also not getting offer sheeted thus far indicates that Guerin is actually in a very strong negotiating position. It's almost unfathomable that Rossi would sit a year, and while it'd be good to avoid souring the relationship, if Rossi isn't getting 7 from anyone, he can't be too mad at the Wild for not offering 7, can he?

  11. Good bridge deal for Vrony. I'd like to see him get in better shape, he gets relatively gassed out there, opting for muscle over cardio, but this is the perfect proving ground to iron out more intangibles in his game, especially with JVR's departure. Blue Jackets could use a good big forward with some scoring touch to aid Coyle

  12. If I were a Ducks fan, I would be very worried about this. Sure, the Ducks can always sign Dostal to a multi-year contract before his arbitration hearing takes place, but if they don't, their goalie of the future becomes an unrestricted free agent in either one or two seasons.
